View Full Version : New model Alhambra?
Is there any news of a new model Alhambra/Galaxy/Sharan being in the pipeline?
u mean a mk3 albammer/ sharon/ galaxy? dunno about that, the mk 2 bammer looks horrid:sick:
Agree about the Mk2, the Mk1 front and dash are far better. I like the new Galaxy front tho, looks classier.
Someone said to me about a new model in 2003???

Thanks, three of us.. cool I like it select.
I have done some quotes for new equipment to Ford and I have been told the design is on paper now. Not sure where it will be built.
They want out.. because they say the shared design is to restrictive for them, I have also seen this comment in Autoexpress
VW also own the factory and VW have been demanding more control.

yeap I got a friend at Ford in Design and its looking less likely that the Ford and VW will be related. VW in turn are rumoured to be working on a new MPV themselves (in addition to the Golf MPV which could s**** a Seat) so we will have to wait and see.
Not sure that a large MPV really fits in with Seats latest image though

True, or a frigging Pope mobile!

its just a mule. The mpv will use the new Golf Mk5 styling
Ford was supposed to break away before the Mk2 came out, but didn't.
My dad has had 2 Galaxys. The first he bought new in 1996 was a 2.8GLX V6 Auto, he looked at the SEAT and VW, and although the SEAT was excelnt value it didn't have a V6 option. It was quite trouble some (mainly the VW parts), 2 gearboxes, CV joint, Fuel tank, drivers seat base, but he was very happy with the handling over it's 90,000 miles. A few months ago he bought another one, a Mk2 2.8 Ghia 24v Auto.
Again, he looked at SEAT.......the V6 Sport doesn't have an Auto option!!!! The Ford also had more std features for the same price as the Alhambra. The handling is better than the Mk1, it is alot quicker (certainly upto Leon Cupra standards once its moving), is more economical and uses much better interior materials...not that the old one was bad.
I personally would love an Alhambra V6 Sport (what? I hear you say, a 25 yr old wants an Alhambra), but while I'm paying for my own fuel SEAT can keep it for me.....:D

It might use the new golf mk5 styling, but I think that it will be based on the current mk4.
I find this strange, but this is what the reports that I have read are saying?!
Why go to the trouble of styling a new car, and using the old platform for it?
