What would the dis/advantages be of changing to synthetic gearbox oil ?
What would be a good mileage to do it ?
Would it invalidate the warranty ? (Unless maybe Amethyst do it)
What oil does VAG specify ?
Thats all the questions for now folks - I'm off down the pub...

How do you know you don't already have fully synthetic in yours?
Its a lot more common these days for manufacturers to use fully synthetic anyway.

I was told by my seat dealer, they were using fully synthetic oil at service times

Iam sure all modern VAG cars come with fully synthetic oil in the Gear box.
Maybe your dealer is mistaken?
