View Full Version : TDi remapping
Just a question for people who have had their TDis remapped..
what mileage did you have when you had it done, and what mileage do you reccomend?
im definately going to get my car chipped.. but when, depends on how long it takes to run-in properly.

i'd give your car a good 1000 befoe thrashing it and then another 2000
before releasing the beast.
Just incase it aint potty trained and makes a mess!!!

Mine was chipped from new by the Seat dealer in Holland, so it's run with it from day 1.
I just ran in it as per the guidelines in the handbook, didn't really give it any till after 1000 miles.
I had mine done after about one and half months ownership with about 1200-1300 miles on I think. I don't think it does any harm actually doing it early it's only if you can trust yourself not to give it full welly until it is run it a little that's the real dilema !
I managed 24hours after chipping without booting it.
It must be the hardest thing on the planet.. im having difficulty restraining myself from embarassing BMWs and saxos...
How many miles have you done now guys?

Mines 23months old now and got 53k on it! Not chipped yet, waiting to see what Revo ends up like when they release it
Did 13k in about 12 weeks and then done 2k in about 10mths. Guess when I changed jobs.
Just under 11k and just coming upto 1 years ownership at the end of the month.

I've gone through 14,000 this week - picked mine up Fri 17th Jan, so should do the 20k I worked on for SMT per year. Off to Scotland again in two weeks, so that's another 500 miles. The A701 - yipeee :D :D
Once my free Seat insurance finishes this year, I'll shop around to see the cost of covering a Revo'd car. I fancy a new kitchen though...

Mine was chipped when it had done 'bout 22000 kilometers.
Now it's 'bout 60000 kms. I try not to rock it too hard all the time (in anyway there's a lot of traffic here in rome so,,,) and I had problems with MAF which got kinda dirty (cleaned with isopropyl alcohol) and a blown temp sensor which rose the min rpm.
Hope I've finished with problems!!
Cheers!
