What's the deal with these t*sser Insurance Companies?!

Apart from the fact that I'm getting stupid quotes for the standard 20VT, when I mention sticking a body kit on it (even the standard Seat one) they get the proper arse and hang up.

Surely this car isn't so nickable that a simple body kit is gonna mean I can't get insurance?!

What's your take on this, people? Anyone had similar problems?

Cheers,

Phatt.

If its factory fit I wouldn't even mention it as the car is not modified. They cant say you've changed it as thats how it was supplied from the factory. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

I've started to shop around before I get my Ibiza RSD'd to 195bhp because my present insurance company (Axa Direct) won't quote on it. So far I've got Directline quoting £350 quid more than I pay now on the standard car with Axa. I'm waiting for Adrian Flux to e-mail me with their quote.

The girl at Directline asked me why I would want to modifiy the car as it was a sporty car anyway ....... women!!! I gave up trying to explain what 'sh*t off a shovel' meant.

That's what I thought at first, but it's not actually "factory" fit. It's a dealer fit option, performed in the UK by the sales dealership.

Since it's an "option" in the brochure, you should be right, but some of the firms (as is their wont) are being arsey about it.

Also, I'm asking for the rear bumper (currently black) to be sprayed body-colour to match in with the skirts and front spoiler - this isn't a standard option at all.

I know it must seem obsessive to be doing these things to the car, and I honestly don't want it to look like I've backed through Halfords or anything! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif Just want it to look "nice"! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Anyway, the last thing I want to do is accidentally write it off and have my claim dismissed over a technicality! ;(
