Knocking Noise

I have noticed a knocking noise coming from underneath the left hand side rear of my Mk2 Ibiza Cupra Sport. Only seems to happen when I accelerate hard out of a corner (which is quite often!) and tends to be more when I'm turning left. Could this this be the driveshaft? Is it an expensive thing to sort if it is?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

sounds daft but is the wheel loose?could be a wheel bearing,had one done under warranty on my 16v cordoba(previous owner):cheers:

If it's from the rear it's probably the strut bearing.

Cheers for the prompt reply guys. Will try all those things suggested. Hopefully it sounds like if it is some kind of bearing then it won't be a major job, as my bank balance is still recovering from having a new oil pump fitted.
