Have you considered the option of including the tool for the alternator clutch?

No but good consideration. Is this something that you think SHOULD be included in the kit?

I've noticed in the past that the better kits seem to include them as an option.

I will source out the tool. This pulley replaces the clutch pulley though.I hope you gents dont mind this.

What's the difference between the OE pulleys and these - lighter, stronger? What is the purpose of the clutch pulley, how does it work?

Between these and OE pulleys : These are lighter and stroker - OEM units I have seen crack (but then again we do have severe salting).

The clutch pulley is for more Diesel applications to allow the load to be taken off the crank pulley. IMHO it is useless for most gasoline engines and even Volkswagen is wishy washy about where they place the clutched pulleys. Some V8 S4's dont have them and some do...
some 1.9 TDI's have them and some dont so the purpose of them (official one anyway) is still one that makes you wonder.

OK. What about the power steering pulley you're showing there - is it finished? The OE pulley has grooves and a lip either side, yours doesn't?

But the PS pulleys you've shown in the first pic at the top have no edges or grooves for the belt?

Sorry I didnt get time to add the PS pulleys in the pic.
The no groove pulleys are VR6 water pump pulleys
same alternator and power steering, different water pump pulley.

You get the idea mate.

Lighter, not sure about the gains as gains reported could be inline with dyno error but the OEM steel pulleys rust and are expensive to replace if you want to replace them.
Just another PROPER item to dress up your engine bay.:p

The way I see these is that they are lighter, stronger and have less parasitic drag on the crank pulley. If you've sent me silver ones I'm going to spray my crank pulley silver to match!

Custom Kevlar one I made for my project...cost quite a bit more than the CF one.

Car is running great, no problems!

Got these fitted now - Fluidampr crank pulley and lightweight alloy power steering pulley, both from INA:

http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/ll330/SonicBlueLeon/pulleys1-1.jpg

http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/ll330/SonicBlueLeon/pulleys2-1.jpg

I used new high tensile bolts and threadlock when fitting them. I have the alternator pulley as well but despite my best efforts, the original pulley refuses to come off - even using an impact gun and a vice didn't work! If I ever get it off or buy a new alternator, I'll fit it then.

The Fluidampr is amazing, it is said to reduce the clatter associated with single-mass lightweight flywheels .... and it really does!, Idle is smoother and quieter now and when getting on the power - it is just SOOO smooth! This thing really works, it's brilliant. :D Lots of info about the Fluidampr here:

http://www.fluidampr.com/

I don't know if it's because of the Fluidampr or the new lighter PS pulley, but my steering feels lighter and smoother now as well.

Did an oil and filter change today too (so now running Millers 10W40 CFS competition oil), along with fitting a proper Goodridge -10AN oil return hose from the turbo to sump, didn't get pics though, will get some soon. I'm now very happy with everything, so it's all set for some hard driving and FUN! ;)

Big thanks to Issam (INA Engineering) for the parts and advice, plus great prices! :D

great stuff here!
