View Full Version : Is Seat selling many?

I was out a test drive in the Exeo last week while my own car was in for a bit of warranty work. It is a really nice car to drive and is really well kitted out as standard so why do they appear not to be selling as I have only seen one on the road and I am driving about a fair bit for work.

Has anyone else seen many of these about yet?

Seen a few about, but as new car sales were down, certainly not surprised you haven't seen many. I've seen 2 or 3

But then again its all proportional

As the VAG group go, how many Leons do you see compaired to VW Golfs or Audi A3's?

Can say the same about Ibizas compaired to VW Polo's

I bet you will always see more VW Passats and Audi A4's than you will SEAT Exeos.

Reason you haven't seen many is SEATs don't sell in the same volumes as Audi or VW

Come on people start buying - I'll be looking for a good 2nd hand one in 2-3 years!!

(anyone want to buy a spec'd up Exeo ST 140TDI Sport in black then sell it to me in 3 years ;) )

I like it that they aren't very common - means most people don't know what it is. I read somewhere that SEAT only expect to sell about 1500 of them this year.

It's surprising that the others in the group do better, I mean out of them all, SEAT have the nicest looking models don't they.

Guys

I've just finshed a three week promotion with the EXEO and being that it was a new range for Seat I was a little concerned for the market that the Company was trying to aim for, however having driven and trailered six of the EXEO's around the country, all I can say is what an impressive car.

In my opinion I would purchase one of these if I wanted a nice family exec car. The six we had where all diesel and ranged from the 143bhp TDI to the top of the range 170bhp TDI ST version.

Im not a fan of Diesel cars but this really opened my eyes.

Had mine for about 5 weeks now, and only spotted 2 others on the road!

Seems that the fleet/business market that Seat were hoping to take a chunk of just hasn't materialised like they thoughts it would. Possibly due to the current economic climate and businesses not buying 'new' cars at the moment......

Must get another drive in a sport to see how much harder the ride is compared to the SE, considering either a exeo 143 tdi sport or a highline passat at the minute but not sure which I would rather go for.

I pulled into a service station on the M5 over Christmas, and spotted what I thought was another Exeo..... as I said to the Mrs "look another Exeo, shall I park next to it?!? ;)" Only to realise it was an A4 !

Andy

Just update on your car,

As its a early car, it's defo on the short life service as the newer car's have a oil condition sensor for the long life version.

Had the same thing with another early customer of the Exeo

sorry

iv seen a couple... what would be stopping me buying one when i become sensible is that they had to base it on the older platform rather than the up to date one...that though will just be stuck at the back of my head no matter how nice it is...bit of a bummer :(

why is the fact its based on the b7 chassis a problem, when its a known fact that the b7 chassis is 'better' than the new b8!

SEAT released their annual sales figures and the Exeo recorded more than 1,400 sales despite only appearing in showrooms part way through the year.

The only reason SEAT got the B7 platform was because Audi was no longer using it.

The whole idea of the Exeo project was to offer an affordable luxury fleet car for much less than the competition in its price sector and bring it to market in a much shorter time frame than would of been achievable otherwise. An older B7 platform is still great value for money and is ahead of many of its competitors in terms of technology and value.

It has been reported that the next Exeo will be much more of a unique SEAT concept based more than likely on the B8 in engineering but have its own unique SEAT look.

I have, the Exeo is a nice car and certainly a car I'd drive if I wanted something for effortless mile munching. I just didn't find it all that involving an experience though, not exciting.

I've not driven a 2.0 TFSi petrol Sport, so that something I'd like to compare with. I tested the the 140 Diesel and it was a great car it just didn't thrill me like my Leon Cupra does...but thats to be expected.

If I had 500 mile trip to drive and I had a choice of an Exeo or a Leon Cupra for the day, I would take the Exeo, but I'd miss the Leon. :)

My old k1 with 300bhp was a flier. Getting into a 170PS TDi was a comedown, but having had that remapped, i have got almost the torque of the K1, smoother ride, 15 mpg more, and the Exeo ST is actually fun to chuck about, surprisingly flat cornering on Sport suspension.

I travel about, mainly A14 & A1, only seen one on the raod since having mine in September 09. Everyone else's loss. Roll on the 4WD versions!!

I don't think Seat are selling that many... I picked up my Exeo (new factory order for the metallic paint and BOSE upgrade) in less than 7 weeks! By contrast I hear you have to wait 3-4 months for specific VW models.

canonman
02-04-2010, 19:12
all depends, your car might have already been picked to be a stock car and then your dealer then tagged it for you so it goes through the system quicker as we ordered as gala blue one and it took 12 weeks!

I have to say that the Exeo is my new favourite saloon, and when i decide to put my cordoba out to pasture (and by that i mean leave it in my garage because i'll never get rid!) i'll definately be looking for one myself! they're bloody gaaaawjuuuusss!! :)

Never seen an Exeo, apart from in the showroom.

Mind you, rarely see another Altea...

There is a Nayara blue one I see every day on the way to work, other than that they are a pretty rare sight.

I'm looking at getting an ST in SE or possibly an SE Tech trim with the CR143 engine for my next company car. What's the waiting list/build time like on these?

I've only seen 3 so far, although one lives about 1/4 mile up the street from me and I've been looking out for them for several months.

Hopefully, this will help keep residuals up, but I'm not banking on it.

Saying that, there was an Exeo parked at the bottom of Nightingale Lane yesterday!

I've seen one or two on the road, but hardly any really. Usually the moment you order a car you see them everywhere... not so with this one though.

Mine has been on order for nearly three weeks, I'm hoping for a delivery before Christmas. It's a white SE Tech CR143 :)

I agree.... had a 143 sport for a day when I ordered mine, I could really tell the difference in the build and finish quality compared to my current 2006 2.0 sport Leon petrol... I was impressed...

Just waiting for my 170 to arrive now... I hope it will be in two weeks time, but so far can't find out:cry:
