After swapping the distributer cap in my Mk1 Ibiza I managed to rip one oof the HT leads from the connecter. This was bodged for the time being to get home from work but the car was missing so bad I could only do 30mph tops but I had to get home.
From here I replaced the leads hoping this would solve the problem yet when removing the lead from the spark plug the top snapped. This caused me to replace the plugs and the rotor arm was done also, yet the car is knocking and missing very badly, the engine almost jumping out of the bay at idle let alone anything else. I dont know where to start, ive tried changing the position on the Cap incase i replaced them wrong but the Haynes manual says im roght.
Does any1 know what the problem is, ive tried pretty much all i can think of, could it be simple or worth a mechanic to look.
