anyone know of a decent boost gauge, cost, where's best to fit it and can it be done by someone with a wee bit of mechanical nouse ??

a nice red digital numeric PSI gauge?
i have to ability to design such a device (i'm a embedded software engineer at a bank alarm company!) and i'd like to have a go at this!
does anyone know of a electronic 'boost level' output on the beeza?
if not there must be some kind of electronic pressure valve on the market that could be used!
or maybe the inside of the on-board computer could be altered so the clock display is boost?
definatly going to investigate this, any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a visit to maplin - or do you get the bits for free from work...?
I like the idea of a readout instead of clock, and then get the instant fuel consumption to say the max boost and you're laughing....

i might take my car apart this weekend and see whats what!!
keep you posted if i discover anything, would be coo to see some indication of boost levels and i dont really want a bloody great analogue dial bolted to the dash!!
You might have a problem with sampling rates and being able to read it if you go with an electronic gauge,
The boost pressure changes very rapidly on my analogue meter when working through the gears and the electronic one would probably only be useful to you to see what your maximum boost is, unless of course you put datalogging capabilities into it !!,
I would highly recommend the autometer gauge from impossible performance, it is very well built and appears to be very accurate too !!, i seem to remember it cost £50 and has a red backlight to blend in with the other instruments

Any pics of your boost gauge fitted. Autometer gauge, is this the same as the one fitted by Amethyst?
