Im thinking about buying Vag-com and have a few questions - Even after performing a search!;)

Is Ross tech the cheapest place to get the basic cable (£120 approx?)
+ 7m extension cable for desktop PC (£12)??

I also read that most of the good features are only available in the registered version?? Is this correct??
On the Ross Tech website it states that the registered version was $99-499.
is the $99 version sufficent??

The features that appeal to me are datalogging and monitoring of things like inlet temps, exh temps, boost etc. Also the torque calculation would be nice:p

What other features are available that people have found really useful??

The $99 version when it is fully registerd is the full product, the others packages just use a dongale as part of the interface cable so that you dont need to register the software the licence key is held within the interface cable.

I use the odb tool with registed vag-com the chepset way to use a great product that i could find, to do any data logging is you will need a laptop. (7 metre extension lead and a full throtle run in 3rd just dont work :D )

Thanks for your help guys!:)

I got the impression that you could view recent data stored on the chip? or you could instruct the ECU to log certain parameters to its own memory??
