Today I went to Autotechnik in Southampton to get them to fit my latest mods for me:)

First off, the Powergasket from the Awesome GTI group buy was fitted. It went on eventually but Alan said it was poorly made and had to be trimmed in many places and the port holes re-cut. However, he did a super job (now glad I didn't attempt it myself) and it went on ok.

Secondly, my downpipe and cat were removed and the Supersprint high flow down pipe and de-cat section were fitted. On inspection of the Supersprint pipe, it was obvious that it was manufactured to a very high standard and looked superb. It is straighter, a bit larger and much shinyer than the original:D The de-cat section includes the necessary lamdba probe mounting points.

Driving the car away, the improvement in performance was immediately noticable, right through the rev range. The d/pipe and de-cat really have made a huge difference. The car accelerates so much harder. And the noise is incredible:D Driving the car at a moderate pace, the exhaust makes no noise at all. Press the go pedal more than about 60% and it sounds like there's a 1200cc motorbike underneath my car!!!!

One point of interest is that looking at the original cat, the two lamdba probes are both actually before the cat. The first sensor is right at the front, then there's a small silencer, then the second probe and then the cat. I have done about 50 miles since removing the cat and no MIL light activity. (Touches something wooden)

When i got home, I opened the bonnet to check the intake manifold. The engine block was very very hot and I put my hand on the intake manifold and it was.....just a bit warm.....amazing! It is usually to hot to touch. Powergasket gets the thumbs up from me, even if it was a pain to fit..

So all in all, a very successful day indeed. Huge thanks to Vanessa and Alan and all at Autotechnik. It was the first time I've used AutoT and certainly won't be the last. Their operation is probably the most professional and well run I've come accross in the Motor trade. I wonder if they fancy becoming Seat dealers:p

300 miles up now and no engine check light:)
I think its getting a little bit quieter and it settles in. Either that or the noise is slowly sending me deaf:D

Still impressed with the de-cat though, car is going so much better now.
Although my fuel ecomony seems to have suffered a bit. Not sure if its due to
1)now having a bit more power=now using a bit more fuel
2)if its just because i've been hooning it about everywhere to hear the noise
or 3)If the lamda sensors aren't functioning as they should and correcting the fuel mixture correctly. Certainly doesn't feel or sound like its running lean/rich.
Thoughts anyone?

4. You're just a nutter on the road m8! ;)

You must hold the title of most the modded Leon owner by now for sure. :)

Very kind of you to say so:redface:
I'd like to think so, maybe in this country anyway

my MPG suffered when I put the decat on (punto GT). I put this down to a los of low down power off boost. sound was amzing with my magex but have not put it back on since my MOT. not sure it actually made much difference although the car does not seem to pull as well higher up the rev range. low down it is much better

Well how long you hold that title obviously depends on if I decide to keep the Leon for more than another year... :p
