Hi Guys,

Just a really quick question, i'm currently running Bluefin Stg1 but i'm haveing thoughts about changing the software to possibly REVO or APR, the only real reason is to get a little extra torque lower down. Whilst i'm pleased with the map and in the current weather having the power higher up does help, i cannot help but feel that i could do with power a little further down the rev range to aid overtaking !

Thanks
Steve

Oh, its a 2007 Leon Cupra !

Hello Rob,

REVO software is very torque’y and certainly a very popular choice for this reason, you can expect power on a ‘typical’ REVO Stage 1 Remap of 275BHP +/- 5BHP. Typical torque is 290 Lb/Ft +/- 10Lb/Ft. All figures are very much dependant on the fuel grade that the car is being run on. Revo can be slightly adjusted to suit each car which is a very nice feature, as if you want to run a higher boost level for more mid range torque then this is feasible. This requires an SPS to make these adjustments however.

With APR, as this is still a relatively new software for JKM to be offering, we haven’t dyno tested many cars – but this is again a very torque’y map.
Where APR is better is that you do not have to buy an extra device to switch between the different fuel grade modes (assuming that you have cruise control).

What we have found through the years is that not all customers want the higher/maximum amount of torque available – it may provoke to much wheel spin for their liking and for this reason what one person will call the ‘best’ map does not suit someone else. Bluefin is a good map and lots of customers actually prefer the Torque level being kept slightly lower but each customer is different.

I hope that this information is useful.

Kind Regards

JKM

HI,

Thanks, thats useful, I know from talking to Jamie@superchips that they put the power higher up for that very reason and genrelly its fine but on the odd occassion i have found to be wanting a bit lower down grunt, I suppose that comes from having a superchips A3 TDi ..... I'm not interested in playing around with the SPS, purely because i wouldn't want to mess with things, i beleive things like that should be left to proffessionals rather than people who just think i'll crank up the wick.... it reminds of a modern day bleed valve....I always run on V Power but the idea of being able to switch by CC does sound good ...

get some logs up Steve, it will be easy to see if your map can be improved upon. :)
