Hi,
I saw in APR"s site their FMIC for the 1.8T engines.Have you any idea of putting it in a Leon?

Theodore.

It might fit with minor changes, but I would think it cheaper to get a forge? Remember you have to pay high duties on goods imported from the US.
I think the petrol guys should take a better look into the 150hp TDI intercooler as it's big, FM, & alot cheaper than any after market one.

Thank you prc. Has any of the club members proceeded to this conversion?
By the way, what about your Xenon lights? Have you any problems without the auto leveling mechanism?
Regards,
Theodore.

It may be bigger but it's not that simple is it, the air flows and pressures within need to match the engines requirements, you could end up spending a lot and not making a huge difference.

I recently have tried to source an APR FMIC for my Leon Cupra without success. It looks a very well executed design on their Web site but, like a lot of things APR, what you see on their Web site and what you are actually able to obtain in the UK for your humble Seat, are two different propositions - remember Stage Three for RHD!! Oh yes! - I know, I know - it`s coming soon -one day - someday - next year - and so on - yawn. The FMIC will in truth, probably be the same.

The problem with the FMIC is not the cooler itself, but the mounting kit. Not a major engineering task to make one,you would think, after developing such a complex product as an FMIC. Indeed they do make them for Audis and VWs,it`s just that they forgot about us at Seat and Skoda! Oh dear!! - no wonder those Revo men are raking it in!!

A lot of good observations, also a couple of remarks that if you knew the full extend of the story you probably would have not made.
Please don’t go and pretend you know all the details about our company and our methods of operation.
Currently we are working on several setups for Seat and Skoda cars.
Star Performance (Scotland) has one of our Front Mount Intercoolers mounted onto a Skoda; we also have mounted this FMIC onto a Seat Leon a couple of weeks ago.
If anyone here feels he needs more info about our products or company please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or send one to the general APR email account.
You can also contact Matt Harris who is the main contact for the visitors of this board.
Please visit our website at www.goapr.com and have a look at what it takes to come out with innovative products.
