View Full Version : Leon Cupra Carpet Mats
I recently picked up my '53 Leon Cupra, and having read a few reviews understood that the Seat dealer mats would be the best to go with. As I signed the deal, the mats were fitted.
Upon inspection, I find that the Cupra came with the little fixing points pre-fitted into the carpet ... Good idea. However, it is a case of the square peg and role hole, as the pegs are rectangular, yet the holes in the mats round ... and therefore completely useless.
Has anyone else come across this?

You must have the wrong pegs... I got round pegs and round holes:D
The pegs are not actually part of the carpet they have plastic screws on the bottom that dig into the carpet to hold them down..
Take 'em back!
Must have changed the pegs for the '53 model, but but the mats!!
Thanks for your input guys. Finally got a hold of someone in Seat parts, who said, surprise surprise, that he thinks there is a new car mat which has been designed for my vehicle, hence the pre-fitted fixing points not marrying up with the mats I orginally purchased.
Will keep you posted as to how it works out.

My dealer fitted my mats for me :D
Told them I wouldn't do the deal unless they supplied & fitted the mats see... :D
As first expected, the 2004 model DOES require the new style 'o4 mats, which come with no badging or embroidery, but do utilise the car's fixing points. If you are buying new, bear this in mind.
Also, when you know how much I got as a trade-in for my Y-plate Astra XSi, and the rest of the deal, you will understand why the poor salesman had nothing left in the deal for the mats!
Go insured thru Arnold Clark for £400 for me and my missus. Seemed like a deal!
Later.
