Ok...getting a TDI instead of a 1.8 SE 20V (long story)

And i know absolutley NOTHING about diesel engines.

So...a couple of questions....

what can i do to improve performance...chipping, air filters, induction kits etc etc etc???

also do TDi's make use of a dump valve? can i fit one? what can i do to make it sound a little meatier???

any responses appreciated!!

Hi Snoop, I hope you will be happy with your new TDi when you get it. I assume that as it is an SE model you will be getting the 110bhp TDi rather than the 90bhp.

Chipping seems popular around this site for the TDi engine with the Upsolute chip being mentioned quite a lot. I suggest you do a search on the site for 'Upsolute' to see comments people have already made.

I would recommend that before you start making any mods, run the car for a while to make sure no gremlins are lurking about.

Mark

PS if you want to check / compare anything on your Leon against another vehicle then I am not far from you (Ruislip)
