Hi Jabba,

im local, only in Werrington, and own an ibiza cupra tdi.

id like some more go! and your right on my door step!

i have a couple of questions regarding a remap. i understand stage 1 remains well within the limits of what the standard set up can handle?
2 months ago i had a new clutch and flywheel fitted, but sadly just a standard replacement. i wish i'd have forked out a bit extra for something more heavy duty as i now want a remap. the old clutch wasnt actually that bad, but the flywheel apparently was shagged!

Is there anything you can modify in the map to turn the torque down a bit and preserve the life of a standard clutch?
I desperately, desperately don't want to go ahead and remap if the clutch is going to go again in 12 months.

any thoughts?

secondly, the car is on 90k miles. is that a factor to take into account?

cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave.

Small world, my girlfriend lives in Werrington :)

None of what you mentioned is a problem for us at all..

Even though we offer it as a "stage 1" - like many of our competitors; we can still adjust any aspect of our remap because it's all our own software.

If you'd like us to limit the torque to say around 280-300lb.ft and then let it rip and the top end and still deliver around 190bhp this isn't a problem and is actually how i have my fabia mapped at the minute..

Mileage is always factored into our remaps, but never an issue..

Thanks

ok cheers Kev. thanks for the rapid response!

that sounds good. i understand that sometimes stage 1 is enough to get through a clutch. like i say mine is quite new and i cannot have it go again!!!
honestly, do you think it would stand up to the job?

how does you fabia drive with the map? is it a noticable 'kin ell!' performance difference? my friend had one and said it become a bit of a weapon once remapped.

Your standard clutch will be fine.. Mine's on 105k on its standard clutch and is fine.. Let alone one that's been replaced recently.. It's all in the mapping :)

yeah, a definite noticeable difference.. I tested mine against the girlfriend.. She was in a stock PD130 Leon. Mine a mapped PD130 fabia.. She actually got a nose in front of me before i booted it yet by the time I'd gone for 4th i was in front by quite a bit..

Definite difference, very easy to notice, in economy too!

oooh that sounds good!!

ive been quite happy with the performace until the weekend, when my inner child came out and raced a fiesta st on the deeping bypass. i thought well thats only got 150bhp standard, (although it had an s/s exhaust a tleast) ill show him some diesel power! but no it crept past me.

it feels like im going faster than i actually am lol, as i thought id do better than that!

but anyways, thats not the real reason why im here, in the jabbasport section

its all about the economy

Of course..

I was up at the lake district this weekend.. Didn't see anything under 60mpg average.. Everyone loves power but still, when it's cheaper to have the power it's win win :)

If you ever want to pop over and try a remap out let me know.. I'll load one in the car and you can pop out in it.. Either that, or just go for the remap, we offer 30 days money back if you're not happy with it..
