Well I know that on track my chipped Ibiza can get down to 6mpg, and as the IHI requires much bigger injectors i reckon you can probably get this down to about 3mpg, maybe even less.

As for normal road driving, I seem to remember Bill posting something like 26mpg which compares well with my 28mpg I get now. Is that correct Bill?

Cheers
Ben

My cruising avg is low 30's when keeping below 85mph..

My actual avg is 28mpg as I can;t keep below 85 much  This is running low boost typically. 9psi I am sure Mrs B would get high 30's as she's more controlled than me :p

On track however... I can empty the full tank in 75 miles on high boost.

Very interesting that you get better MPG than me. Also very interesting that I have emptied a whole tank in 50miles on track... hmmm, 10 Gallon tank used up in 50 miles = 5 mpg!!!! How come you car is more economical on and off the track.

BTW, i did once have a sesible week in which i tried to get the highest mpg I possibly could... I got 39.9mpg over this period but could not get it to hit 40 no matter how much I tried and how much I coasted!

Cheers

just thought about it . will bigger injectors make a diffrence ? i.e less mpg then it reads ? what can you get to a tank bill ? on a normal drive .

He probably gets better MPG than a tank, just. ;) :D

As an aside, I saw a thing on the news during the main part f Gulf War 2 and it showed a UK tank and said that it does something like 6 gallons per mile (Not miles per gallon, but gallons per mile!!!)!!!!

Thats why they were getting concerned about our fuel supply routes at the time!

Typical refill and milage on that tank is:-
280 miles on trip, and 40ltrs fuel (8.8gals approx) ~ 31.8mpg
this is what I avg on a run when not 'driving it' :p
