View Full Version : Toledo Shocks
Shock absorbers to be exact!
Got a Toldeo TDI 2000 with 87k on the clock. Anyone know what sort of life the shocks have mileage wise? I just feel the car seems to "crash" unduly on potholes and covers etc and am wondering if this and the mileage is a sign that they need replacing.
they're most likely sh*gged
company passat with 67k had no damping at all (when I slapped it against the kerb)
try www.gsfcarparts.com for passat replacements

You must have really good roads up in the Uk cus shocks don't last more than about 50000km here..:(
Even the set of bilsteins lasted only 90000km.
My Leon had 85k miles on it now, and crashes like a good'n over pot holes.....
Answer: They are sh*gged!!! Should have replaced them at 60k miles really.
Thanks for the replies all. Looks like they're knackered then!
Any idea of a ball park figure for supply and fit of replacements using standard shocks and is it a tricky job on the Toledo?
I got a price of 4x shocks from Skoda (the Octavia shocks have SEAT part numbers) of £290 inc vat for the set, these are the Octavia RS ones which are slightly stiffer and would improve the ride.
Fitting... no idea, would take me a couple of hours, dont like paying fo it!!!!:D

Why fit standard shocks. They are to underdamped to work well. Spend the same or a bit more and get some bilstein B4 shocks. They are meant as OE replacements, are just a bit firmer than the OE ones (<10% firmer), give you much better control, and will probably last alot more.
