I picked up a used Ibiza yesterday and am toying with the idea of putting a CD Changer in it, the dealer ones are quite dear so I may go for interfacing my old Kenwood changer to it if I can.
Does anyone know who manufactures the stereos for these cars?

I'd quite like to keep the head unit as is rather than hacking the dash (and forking out for a new one), so I guess I'll try to suss out an interface or find a cheap used changer for it...
got one sat ere
with a Alhambra head unit if anyone needs one ?
just need ahem - summat CD head unit to replace it (std size)
wanna swap ;)
all you need is the ibiza frame (£9.00 odd) and fittings
spare cartridge i think somewhere (£35)
hang on - no spare cartridge - mates had it sorry

Interested mate, is that a boot mounted changer you have there?
How much do you want for it?
I'm not sure I understood what you were saying about the frame (cos I is fik), do I need the Ibiza frame to replace my head unit,or is it something to do with the changer?
I don't know if it's any use, but I have a Kenwood (can check model if needed) standard head radio/cassette and 6 cd changer....

u get a frame to mount in the boot. which the changer then mounts to.
just makes it looks dealer fitted rather than just dumping it in the boot.

Ah I'm with you, nice one.
If that's the case Fl@pper let me know what you're after for it, condition etc etc...
I Just got myself sorted out with an adapter from Toad group!
Got a Sony 10 disc changer, Adapter plugs in the back of the set & runs to a box, The other end of the box is Sony fittings.
Hey presto Cd changer that works!!
Only problem is I cant select the last 4 discs.
Ive a Sony 10(6) Discs changer. Marketing gimik??
its about 8/9 months old
been in car in glove box as a gap filler and silence drowner for roughly 6 months
do ya a deal
ill get a frame and fittings needed (i got the rivnut tool and fittings)
ill supply / fit and throw in a free scala (alhambra) head unit
swap 4 ya kenny and changer ?
not got an ibiza and only need summat to spin discs on way to work :)
only takes 10 mins to fit / 30 sec to plug in and test

Sounds like we're getting close to a deal Fl@pper :)
Can I ask a couple of questions?
The changer you're offering will work with my current Ibiza head unit yeah?
My preference is to keep the existing head unit so as not to bugger about with the dash and keep the car original, so I'm hoping that I can bracket up the changer in the boot and run a cable into the back of the head unit I have.
The changer is fully working and not banged about/knackered?
Don't be offended, I don't think you're dishonest or anything like that, I just wanna make sure I'm clear on what I'm getting.
For info, my Kenwood is in very good condition indeed, there is a minor scratch on the changer outer case, but it works perfectly. Do you want the model number?

Iv'e got a 10 Disc Grundig CD changer for use with MK2 Ibiza/Cordoba Headunits. When I got my MK3 It came with one and I wasn't gonna let the dealer have it.
If its a MK2 that you've got the wiring for the changer should already be in place. Its behind the carpet in the boot just above the right suspension strut.
Its fully boxed with instructions and mounting brakets. Will sell for £80 + P&P.

I also have a MK3 which I would like a changer for. Can I have second dibs if the other guy don't want it please?
Re the point above about not being able to select the last 4 disks, I have it on good authority that you should be able to access the last 4 disks using the track seek keys rather than the disk select ones.

Hi guys. Honestly dont know if it will work in a mk3. Never had to try it.
I'll check it tommorow.
It up to you Governor, you have first refusal if you want it. Seems that SavilleJ might take it if not.

Hey Tom, I'll take first refusal on it mate, if you could let me know if it fits a Mark3 that would be great mate.
I'll check my car to see if it has the wiring as well, look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.
sorry not legged it
all working fine mate
ill grab it out and give it a proper once over
think there's a slight scratch on top from memory
and yes it will fit mk3 (check cable is there behind NSR 1/4 trim)
keeps original dash radio - controlled on display
original genuine part
drop me an email - ill forward some pics later
as for model no - y not no probs - not worried - as long as it fills the hole and this unit gets some proper use and a geezer out of trouble
as for mk2 changer - wont work in mk3

Hi Governor
Could't get the time today to check the Changer. Having had a fumble around though it feels like the connection lead could be different. Don't know though. (Dark in boot, Lead conection hidden).
Don't know if anyone else has tried it?
The CD changer is an Grundig MCD40.
Will maybe get a better chance at the weekend to check.

I've got the changer from a VW hooked up to mine - looks same as SEAT one but it's just rolling about the boot - anyone know where I can get the fitting brackets for it? Does it screw onto the back of the rear seat?
