Can anyone tell me how good the standard alarm system is on the Leon Cupra? The dealer tells me it is Thatcham Cat 1 but didn't seem too sure. I have a Cupra on order for Sep 1 but I need to know whether or not I need to arrange for an additional alarm to be fitted.

Finally, has anyone managed to get a dealer to program their alarm to "chirp" when the hazards flash during arm/disarm? My last car was an Audi A3 and the dealer was able to reprogram my alarm to do this.

Thanks for your help!

As far as I am aware as of week 18 of this year, SEAT have upgraded the alarm software. This makes it CAT 2 compliant - the drawback being that the memory functions on the leather seats doesn't work any more!

As for re-programming it to make it chirp - sorry I don't know... FLAPPER or SWINNY are probably the guys to answer this!
