Fitted these yesterday, the heater helps to keep the bootle pressure up around 850 psi in these cold conditions which basically means that in dry conditions audi tt drivers are left wondering what went wrong. lol

Sorry, did you just imply you've got nitrous?

If so then what sort of power figures?

Cheers

Not sure what the figures are with nitrous yet cus I havn't been on the rollers since it was installed, all I know is that I am running 180 bhp without so I would expect that it would be around about the 200 bhp area with the 50 shot that I am running.

what engine mate ? nitrous can be a easy way for your engine to go bang :( but if done correctly can be good . also what controller do you have ?

Engine is a 16v ABF. Drove the car all the way from Leicester to Ipswich to get the kit fitted, MJS services are probably the most experienced nitrous boys in the country. Total cost was £900, this is for a direct port kit, u can get it for £840 if u don't have direct port. Its a 50 hp kit (no progressive controller) I would not be willing to increase up from 50 hp cus like u said, the £3500 that I have spent on the engine would go up in smoke .

with the amount of extra torque you turbo boys would get from uprating your turbo I would not even consider fitting nitrous if I had a 20vt engine.

It's semi useful for antilag if you are going for really big power and big boost.

Very cool. Nice one - quite an engine you are putting together there - nice to see folk doing work on valvers :)

Manifold has been trial fitted (fits ok) taken off, then I have fitted a rear race-spec vibratechnic engine mount (easy job when the manifold is off) and trial fitted again to check for clearance for fitting lambda into collector area - no go on my car so lambda will be fitted in one of downpipes - not ideal as only is sampling one cylinder rather than all 4 but will be fine since my ECU dont use lambda anyhow and I know from experience that all cylinders run pretty much equal. Lambda only really used for mapping when an exhaust gas analyser is used also anyhow.

So job is in progress - manifold to exhaust shop tomorrow night for lambda boss welding, wrap with thermowrap to keep underbonnet temps down and then it will be final fitting time.

fyi - I have seen an ali plate that fits between the inlet manifold and cylinder head on the 16V that has holes drilled in it to accept nitrous nozzles - one per cylinder - looked cool to me and meant you didn't have to drill the manifold - available from autotech in USA.

Cheers

glad to hear that you have had limited problems with the manifold. This plate for the nitrous sounds good, shame my manifold is allready tapped, the only problem this would cause mee is if I wanted to sell the motor on but take the nitrous off, but this isn't really a factor cus my green machine aint gunna be for sale for ages yet. Oh yeh Rob - r u going to be at the rr day at stealth in Jan and also the track day at mallory in Feb?

Yes to both - see you there.
