Dear mr Jabba sport :p
Just interested look at the large bore pipe for the 1.9tdi from miltech, I see it has free fitting, but what is including in this?
Do you get to choose a tip so it can look as factory? does this cover resonatring/non resonating exhausts, And what about the cat ?
Just would like an idea of total price for sorting the entire exhaust out on it.
I drive a 55plate FR mk1 150bhptdi if that is helpful.
Cheers and look fwd to your response.

Hiya,
Sorry i haven't got back to you sooner.
We offer free fitting with all Milltek systems, whether you go for just a downpipe or a full exhaust system.
If you take a look here http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=174
this shows all the options available for your car, including tail pipe options.
Once you've decided what it is you're after post it here and i can drop you a quote including the free fitting.
Thanks
Kevin
sorry to hijack!

With option 2 the Catback quiet.
Does this replace the cat with a sports cat? and if not do you recomend a cat replacement as i know the 1.9tdi cats have terrible air flow?

It doesn't replace the cat, hence being called cat-back.. The exhaust system is from the cat-back.
If you're on standard turbo i wouldn't recommend too highly going for a de-cat but that's matter of opinion..

Sorry for hijack.
Why wouldnt you recommend turbo back system on a standard turbo? surely with the cat being so restrictive, de-cat would just aid flow? not looking for an aguament, just interested to know the logic behind it? (especially as i will be buying a turbo back system very shortly)
cheers

You can put a de-cat on if you wanted, i myself have a de-cat on my 1.9 vRS but, the de-cat does release a lot of back pressure, which then aids the turbine flow at the top end.. We've seen with quite a few cars with de-cats that they run over requested boost at high rpm because the turbo relies on some of that back pressure being apparent..
If you do have a de-cat ideally you need a map to suit, when i fitted my de-cat (fitted for noise) i then had to pull back some of the VNT angle maps and IQ maps to stop the turbo running away at the top end.
Quite difficult to explain, but if you fit a de-cat to a car and then do nothing you will notice a gain, at the top end, but this is because the turbo is producing more boost at the top end due to less back pressure, in some situations this can be to much boost for the turbo, especially KKK turbos and can reduce reliability.
If you go the right route, and fit the de-cat then have it mapped you wouldn't see too much gain over a car with a cat being mapped and a car without a cat being mapped because you're actually having to restrict the de-cat car at the top end.
If you get me.
Thanks

But how about a sports Cat? so you stil have some back pressure but not so much?
i actually understand the point your making, good bit of technical info. thanks.
interesting exhanges guys :)
No go for me Kev im afraid, can find substantially cheaper elsewhere :(
