Just had look on the APR website, they have just cut prices like never before for both the Leon and Ibiza ECU Upgrades.

(also includes Stock program when using EMCS)

£595 for Ibiza

gtevo,

The APR website shows the 280bhp conversion for the Ibiza and its priced for a 2001 Ibiza at £3995. They even have a part number for it!

But, if you've spoken to the man himself and he says no then I guess they are not. :(

Any idea why not?

Hi guy's

Sorry guy's - no stage 3 for the ibiza. However, we have just sent stock injectors, fuel pump and K-03 to HQ USA to evaluate flow characturistics and enable us to do the K-04 package. This may require different injectors or even a fuel pump. On the next visit from our engineers, we will be carrying out the R&D for the Ibiza K-04 with a two stage program via our EMCS system on our own Ibiza (problably 180/245HP) but we will see. The way the engine mounts in the Ibiza is like the Golf 2 where the rear engine mount will interfere with our system. The volume of sales for the Ibiza STG3 would not make it economically viable for us to redesign the hardware!

will keep you posted

Thanks for the info Mark (You may want to update your website).

Do you (APR) just do these predesigned tuning packages or do you do custom tuning? Basically, I have forked out a couple of grand on the 207bhp RSD Oettinger conversion (Hadn't seen your site back then :( ) but now I want a bit more power.

One option that has been suggested is to use a bleed valve to increase the turbo presure by a couple of psi and I believe bigger needle valves will be needed on the injectors to handle the increase fuel rate demands. Do you do this sort of thing?

I've been quoted £45 parts and labour for the larger needle valves, and I don't think the Bleed Valve would cost much.

With your experience of the Ibiza do you know of any reason why the above mods wouldn't work? Would you be able to quote a price to do the above work?

Thanks
Ben

Mosser, what exactly is a bleed valve and what does it do ?

Is is worth fitting one instead of a chip upgrade or in addition ?

Cheers
