Hi All

I have got a knocking noise coming from the rear of my Exeo.

It is similar to fuel sloshing around, but it makes no differance if the tank is full or empty. The dealer has heard it when it had it's 10k service, but say they need to have it in for investigation.

It happens when you pull away & break (not harshly)

Any ideas

I have a mild knocking noise.

Sounds like the pads moving in the calipers.

I'm not worried at the moment.

Same here......

Thought it was either fuel in the tank sloshing/banging around in the tank, or the pads clunking in the carriers.

Might get the dealer to have a look at it in more detail.

anyone got a vibration from near the passenger glove box, I hear it in mine but only when the car is cold first thing in the morning. Oh and have heard the noise from the rear but it doesn't really bother me that much

I know this is a bit of an old thread but did anyone get to the bottom of the knocking noise?

Seems like it's a 'known' issue with regards fuel in the tank sloshing about.....

Bit more info in this thread.....

Thanks, it was that thread which prompted me to ask whether anyone had sorted this out. Mine's done this since day one and I assumed it was the tyres crunching gravel. However seeing it in the above thread and then finding this thread I wondered if it was a known issue with a fix? Various A4 forums mention this or similar sounding issues but have no conclusive answers. I've read of dealers changing tyres and suspension components but without necessarily fixing the issue.
