I am going mad or is the Dump Valve position on the Leon not as shown in the review for the Forge replacement.

See attached for position on my engine

Do you have the link for the review as well?

It's the review on seatcupra.net. http://www.seatcupra.net/review1.shtm

I think I understand. The picture is the same one as on forge's site and I think this is of an Audi TT installation. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your right, it certainly isnt the install on a leon!!, mine doesnt look like that, the top pipe is comming from the wrong angle anyway!

Just looking at changing the standard dump valve for a Forge replacement. The dump valve is tucked away under the plastic cover on top of the engine. Wont there be a problem with clearance. There's plenty of you Leon owners out there that have already done the job. Is there a problem?

Just been doing some searching on the forum for clues as to the position of the dump valve.
Found this:

The valve is clear of the plastic engine cover, mine is completely under the cover. Could this be related to the turbo changes on the latest engines.

Yup sorry about that, at the time i did the review i didnt have any pics available so i linked one from Forges website, only to show you what the valve looks like, it was never intended to be a fitting guide. :)

You've already located a better picture but this zoomed out image gives you a better idfea of where it is.

Thanks for that, good picture. But all it seems to confirm is that my dump valve is in a different position. Hmmmm...

So what's the best 'piston' or 'diaphragm' operated dump valve.
I know a lot of you have DV006 piston type valves. What about the DV007, any good?
I notice there is now a DV007P piston type but as small as the diaphragm type.
Opinions?

The forge ones are the best ones to go for, for our cars. If its a Leon you've got I think its the DV006 that most people have fitted.

I have a DV007 fitted, actually only fitted it yesterday. Ive only had the car out once since fitting it, but I would definately recommend getting one. The car seems to be a lot smoother when changing between gears.

C ya....

The dump valve on my 2001 model leon is fully under the cover too, there is no way i could get it to stick out from underneath with the length of the vacuum hose!, but it doesnt need to really cos it fits nicely under there!

The Forge links above don't work, anyone got a revised link for the fitting and servicing of Forge DV's ?
