Looks quite interesting.

The pictures look bit crap though... looks like its half done.

I dunno if it would fit an Ibiza though. I think an Ibiza needs a very customised intercooler... I don't think you could have a one size fits all for all 1.8T cars.

I like the way they have solved the problem of having to have both pipes at one end. The GRS FMIC has to be dual pass, but the APR one has the airflowing vertically instead of the normal horizontal and so can still have a single pass system even though the pipes are both at the same end.

I don't like the fact that it says stuff like "with an input temp of 240º F, the intercooler was quite effective; cooling the output air to 126º F.". Quite effective? I want VERY effective. Thats 52C which isn't THAT cool really, but then 20psi is quite high.

I do like the fact that a pressure drop of only 0.5psi was recorded though.

Bit pricey?

Cheers

this kit has already been fitted to a few apr tuned ibiza 20vt's by star.
think it came in about £1000 fitted and quote "works well"

Who are the Ibiza owners that have this fitted?

I am currently looking for an intercooler, but couldnt find any that would fit so was going to opt for a chargecooler.
If this one fits it would be superb! :D

External pressure drop is quite low too - always important for those of us with dual rads (cos of AC). Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Are you sure its APR's Golf FMIC they fitted?
The one I saw posted many moons ago from Star was a fabricated one and not the vertical cored APR one.

Who's running one of these?

Ibiza fitment is VERY different to the Golf one... and the pipe exits are on the opposite side of the car to begin with.

The terms chargecooler and intercooler are both interchangable. You will often read about air/air intercoolers Vs air/water intercoolers, and similarly air/air chargecoolers and air/water chargecoolers.... but in general a lot of people (Including me) call the air/air type an Intercooler and an air/water tyre a chargecooler.
