Don't you hate the way your dealer plasters the rear screen with their own stickers! And the SEAT safety sticker above the passenger seat on the windscreen!
Well I've tried peeling a few off and that amounts to a few strands. Anyone got any good ideas as to how to remove these?
I don't want to be too abrassive especially on the rear window else I might damage the elements used to clear the screen.
Cheers
Dave
couple of things you can use on stubbon stickers, hopefully these will come off with these.
Heat the stickers with a hair dryer, so they are very hot, this loosens the glue and hey presto, the sticker should peel away. As you peel away, you may have to diver the hot air as it can shrink some stickers, and you want an edge to grip as you pull it off.
Chances are that will leave a gluey mess. Get a cloth, something like a tea towel and soak it in break cleaner and then rub hard and the glue should come away. You need to be careful that the brake cleaner doesnt drip on the plastics. It shouldnt mark, but you should be careful just incase. You can also use soapy water with strong amount of fairy liquid, but your likely to be there all day!
wet-ones
The wipe things that you can get from garages/tescos/wherever.
Great for cleaning up kids, hands, keyboards, phones, and most important - glue left over from peeling off stickers
:D
They also get chocolate and jam off car seats

You can get rid of this one easily by getting your windscreen stonechipped and replaced :)

Er, might try the hairdryer and wipes suggestions first before following a lorry from the local quarry.
Cheers
I had to do all this today as well.
I got really annoyed with the safety sticker coming off but leaving all the glue behind so I got a petrol soaked rag and rubbed it off. It worked wonders as it came off in a minute but my car now stinks of petrol! D'oh!
The dealer stickers and tax disk holder came off and left no residue.
White spirit I've found does the trick well, after removing most of the sticker with the back of a stanley blade.

Make it even easier, if you ask the dealer that supplied it they are supposed to remove their stickers on request at no charge.
Done this before with no problems.
It's been a while since anyone has posted on this thread so the answer to my question is probably elsewhere but i can't find it!! So does anyone know how to remove the newer type of dealer sticker they put on the rear window, its more like a transfer than a plastic/vinyl sticker and when you pick at a corner it just scratches and now looks terrible, just wondering if theres an easier way than scratching away at it??
