I would just like to thank Graham and Amethyst for sorting my problems with my car out at short notice!!,

It would seem that the LPG conversion place mis wired the Boost pressure regulator (amal valve?) and it wasnt letting any boost into the engine at all !!, it was just letting the default 5psi to open the wastegate through the engine which resulted in me only having what felt like 130Hp !!,

But the beast has returned to my car so i am happy !!:D

Ha! knew it.
5psi default mechanical wastegate pressure..

N75 valve (amal - boost control valve)
Glad its all sorted for you.
You're going to seriously kick my arse on Saturday me thinks!:D

You can get a really bad stomach ache when your anal Valve isn't working right ;)

Glad to hear that its all working again now.

So Bill, now that we know that 5psi is the default failsafe presure, and we know that our cars (Or at least yours for sure) have the occasional 5psi moments then this implies that the car is temporarily going into failsafe mode. Any ideas why?
Maybe the ECU is just detecting the overboost (17psi spike) and sh1tting itself and temporarily going into failsafe mode?

Anyway, getting my boost gauge fitted tommorrow at Amethyst so I should be able to see if I too get these 5psi moments.

Slowly the puzzle pieces itself together.
If would guess if the ecu went into safe mode, that it would record the fact via an error code, which I have never seen on my vag-com.
More likely the amal valve might be sticking perhaps....

I have never caught this "event" on vag-com to confirm this though, as the 5psi moment would show itself on datalogging of %duty cycle on the valve, and with target boost pressure figure also if the ecu switched into "safe" mode.

i don't think its related to the 17psi overboost you get on the Oettinger software, as I have experienced 5psi moments with low boost part throttle.

its too intermittent on mine to try to drive around logging.... it only happens on odd days.

regards
Bill

When i was at amethyst, Graham showed me my printout of all the errors it had logged!, 19 of them!, but after clearing the error log (DTC's) and doing a TBA, they took it out for a test run and it was still stuck at 5psi boost, but when they got back it hadnt logged any faults!, and the CEL hasnt been on since i got it back from the LPG removal, so dont expect a CEL and an error logged if you do get this condition Bill, might be worth having a chat with Flapper, or Graham, they can tell you in more detail about it!

At awsome gti, the guys from apr plugged in the 1551 to read my ecu and found a fault registered with the boost control/regulation valve. Apparently, if u remove one of the clips and then re-connect (eg when fitting a dump valve) then it registers a fault in the ecu apparently.

Mine was cleared but i will find out 2moro if it has come up again.
