Why is it that if you get a car from abroad you can get so many more options - eg muddyboots i understand has auto wipers and lights, HIDs, a SEAT approved Chip. Why don't we get these options in the UK? It just seems daft that they don't offer as many options as possible and let people spec there own cars and make their own choices.

Also does anyone know of a GOOD and reputable importer????

 guys

Safest and cheapest way is to do it yourself mate - go direct to Pruys or Autogoedhart.

If you're insistant on an importer, give Iain Litchfield (of Litchfield Imports) a call & see if he'll quote you. Top bloke. :)

Euro exchange rate p1sh poor at the moment though :( (was over 1.6 when I got my car).

Exactly, we are sitting ducks who don't complain about paying over the odds for less.

Screw us I say.

I just imported my Leon 130 TDi through a company called Autobenelux.co.uk. Bloody good service, loads saved plus got extras not available in the UK e.g half leather/half alcantara electric seats. Well worth it!

You missed ESP off :D

I imported from Wim Pruys (main dealer in Holland), great guy, perfect english and all done via email - but I heard he might have stopped doing RHD exports for the time being because of the poor Euro exchange rate (http://tinyurl.com/26y4j) and having had a few cancelled orders. Might still be worth contacting him to ask though.

If the exchange rate ever recovers, have a nosey through the Imports forum for more info...
