Evening all,

My first coil pack has just gone and the AA have just been to diagnose. :(

He disconnected the faulty coil, so petrol unburnt petrol isn't being thrown at the CAT to give that disgusting eggy fart smell! ;)

He informs me that it'll be safe to drive to my local SEAT garage (15 miles away), as long as I don't take it more than 50 miles.

It'll be down on power, but won't ruin the CAT or cause any other problems as the faulty pack is disconnected.

My question is, do you peeps think it'll be safe to drive the 15 miles to my dealer with the faulty coil pack disconnected?

:dunno:

when mine went, the AA man said exactly the same, but I told him to tow it anyway... didn't want to take any chances

when my coil pack went i had 2 AA men out and they were both a waste of time - the whole episode was a complete farce

check with the dealer if it is safe to drive

Well, in the end I ended up getting the AA to tow me to my local dealer. The dealer then informed me that they would have it fixed by the end of the day with 4 shiny new coil packs! :)

Fingers crossed though eh, as that all sounds too good for my dealer! :(

Cheers for the advice everyone!

PS. Does anyone else think it sounds cool running on 3 cylinders?
