Tried to open my drivers side leccy window this morning and it only opened about and inch then stopped.
Im sure its not the motor cause you can hear it trying, it seems like somethings jammed, you cant
physically push the glass down either.
Read through the haynes manual and it says the window has to be fully down to remove the glass and
take the mechanism out, so what can I do?? Any ideas??
get the door card off, you might be lucky & the window has stopped at just the right point to get the glass out (not the bottom)
maybe you've hit some ice somewhere. you may have or are about to snap a piece of wire, so don't keep trying

Ive had the door card off but cant see to get the glass off as the window is only opened an inch. Its not ice, perhaps a cable has got caught up but theres only a few gaps to see through and I cant see anything obvious.
Will have to have another look later.
no need to remove the window at all.if it will go back up do that, then tape it nice and tight to the door frame, then take the mechanism out from under the glass, this is how i replaced mine on me old beeza.3x10mm nuts and its out, just watch out when pulling the mechanism from the glass, its tight but it will come.

Before you start dismantling your car why not take a can of WD40 or lock lube and spray that in the window guides in side the door?
It could just be sticking on a bit of crap in the guides, my chaps Vectra did this on the drivers window all the time and he got some special lock lube from his Vauxhall dealer which cured it.
