Anyone installed one? Very interested to find out how it's done with minimal dashboard disruption....i.e. butchering and also best place to put if for easy usage.

Dormouse,
I have mine fitted by the radio. I used a Dashmount (www.dashmount.co.uk) as it fit's begind the mounts behind the radio, so you don't have to drill holes.

It's good but you loose the use of your cup holder........

My Phone Kit. (http://www.seatcupra.net/images/merrick/Dark.jpg)

forgot to mention mine was a beezer....still, yours looks like a genuine nokia kit nd 6210 which, if the same kit works, would do mine just fine.

I've got that nokia kit. I mounted it sideways in front of the gearlever, using a standard bracket bent 90 deg. It's not that easy to dial, but it's out of the way and fine to answer calls. The only holes are under the gear lever surround so don't show. I piggybacked the power off the fag lighter and used an internal glassmount antenna above the mirror. The main box is double-sided taped to the trim above the drivers feet, the speaker under the dash (passenger side), and the mic on the windscreen pillar. This means I can remove the kit without leaving any sign it was ever there, and only the mic and holder really show.

If you want the ultimate in phone kits for your car and happen to own either a Nokia 6310 or 6210 (with Bluetooth Connectivity Pack), then check out the wireless car kit from Nokia.

http://www.nokia.com/phones/6310/6310_bluetooth.html

No messy phone holders, just one single button which can be mounted anywhere on the dash, and with voice dialling and voice commands its gotta be the tits!!

Did someone say or did I imagine it that there is a phone mute input ot the ibiza head unit?? is there a phone in as well so you dont have to use the crappy speaker with the kit???

Autoleads seem to sell a wiring loom of some sort for the ibiza do this have it in???

Matt, this is my dilema at the moment too. I'm told that there is.

Dashmount do a lead, which I assume is in-line. This should remove the need for Cacko Speakero. Autoleads eh....hmmmmm....heard nasty things about em'!

So basically what i'm going to try is the dashmount 'mount' Nokia (original) cat kit with a dashmount mute cable.

P.S where is you in this fair county of Hampshire?

if it's easy I'd do without the cack nokia speaker. Let me know how it goes.

I have learnt three almost pointless things today.

1. In spain it is totally illegal to drive with any kind of mobile kit at all in use.

2. Grundig stuff is apparently made in Portugal!!!!

3. The Beezer 2000 -> mute pin is on the third set of plugs down next to the clip on the bottom.

Autolards make a generic mute lead which switches the ignition wire to the stereo and diverts the phone through the front speakers.....:)

I think it lets you deriive the power for the car kit too so theres no need to use nasty scotchlocks crimps or other shit..:)

its shows phone and mutes

the level the volume is set to is configurable on the Aura.

Check the manual for details - I think it is set to 4 / 5 by default.

Try looking in the manual for the soft volume setting. This can be set by the user to a pre-determined volume when auxiliery kit is activated. I have mine set to zero, so when the phone comes in the soft vol set the stereo to O volume.

markmck

no headphone button on mine - must be a v4 single cd

Grundig unit according to Seat

yup I dound that last night dormouse:) the mute works a treat!

Its a shame that you have to use a relay box to switch the speakers in and out!:( The V3 aura has a telephone input for audio to route everything through the stereo!:(
