starting probs

Hi

Does anyone else have the same prob as me, when i run the car and leave it about 20 to 30 mins sometimes it just turns over fast but doesnt catch but it starts on the second try, ok if left longer and always ok from cold

the car is a w reg 1.6 sport ibiza

i got a very similar problem. i got a w reg 1.6 sport cordoba.
same engine?
i gotta leave it about 10 mins before it will actually start.

the most common fault is the engine speed sensor which is located on the block and is a 3 pin flat black connector.it is a hall effect sensor which uses a magnetic pick up sometimes this can become contaminated with metal particles and picks up a dodgy signal and looses where it's at sometimes cleaning helps but must of the time it's a dustbin job.another problem but not so common anymore is your immo chip in your key. plugging 1551 in will tell you the answer but these are the most common 2 faults
