View Full Version : Knackered steering column & SEAT Goodwill?

My steering wheel is suffering from impotence , at a recent service the garage said it needed a new steering column. The wheel will not lock in its highest position, and the stalks are off centre, drooping to the left. I have been quoted £495 incl labour to get it fixed. Unfortunately the car is an import and now 2.5 years old, so its no longer under warranty.

Has anyone heard of this fault before?

I am going to write to SEAT asking for some sort of a goodwill gesture, has anyone done this and are they likely to be sympathetic to my plea?

This is certainly something that shouldn't happen on a relatively new car

Thanks in advance.

i woudnt have thaught that you will get any good will on this. if the car had been a 3.5 year old uk car then you probably would. but seat need a reason for people to buy uk cars. and this is one of the main reason why buying a uk car is better.
