View Full Version : I want foldy mirrors too.........
This has come about if i'm honest, cos i hate the small passenger mirror on my cupra i mean c'mon for christ sake! it's like a car version of Nemo wit the dicky fin :D So was thinkin (which is always dangerous) can the passenger mirror be changed for a leon one straight-off is the black trim bit that holds the mirror identical to the ibiza equiv.. so there's no messin, but wait, i thought, the bro-in-law always teases on how his leon 20vt got the foldy mirrors and i's thinkin that if poss for me's too have also then i got NO PROBS in changing the switch gear both mirrors etc if EASILY feasible wit out sellin me soul, etc. (i.e. wiring already there OR minimal effort required to suit)
Am i babbling or is this a good idea?????
Would anyone else like to know???
The wiring on the Ibiza is completely different and no Mk3 Ibiza's have had foldy mirrors so there is no wiring there already. There will be no suitable switch availble to fit the Ibiza controls either. The mirror *might* fit since the drivers side one is the same (i think) but the electrics would be a nightmare. Dont forget you'd have to change the drivers one too as there would be no motor there. And they don't come cheap. Close on two hundred beer tokens a piece, IIRC.
If you just wanted a full size one on the pas. side couldn't you fit one from a left-hand drive model? Just a thought...

It is possible, order a right hand mirror for a LHD car.
Not sure if the blind spot angle would be right though.

Might get round to it. Daz mailed me a list of parts once for the conversion.
