yer its been done b4 as well as vr6 motor but too short a wheel base
for serious 1.8t power anless you stiffen it up immensely other wise floor splits open o.k. for trak days etc but dangerous for the inexperianced driver

looks like the 180,210,230 bhp would be too much for the arosa to safely handle, pulling the welds of the shell apart is not what i had in mind when i started this thread, so how about the Audi A4 1.8 20v turbo 150, or the non turbo 1.8 20v, any suggestions on any engine transplant on the arosa will much obliged.

TSR do a turbo conversion for the 1.4 (100bhp?) model. You might find some pics and details on their website.

Its not worth it.

Having spoken to Ian myself, and the people who did his conversion (Jabbasport, as seen above) the problem is that you need LOTS of custom made parts - driveshafts, etc and they reckon that the cost, without and engine, could easily exceed £10,000

AwesomeGTI used to offer conversions for the Polo with a 1.8Turbo, and their stated price on the website was £10,000+VAT (They don't offer this anymore though)

Its just not worth it - the only viable transplant would be to get the 1.6 16v out of the LupoGTi - it would drop strait in. TSR, who USED to offer a Turbo for the 1.4, now offer a deal to drop the 1.6 16v in for you.

Alternatively, you could get Advanced AutoSport to use throttle-bodies to get you up to 150bhp with the 1.4 16v, or 175+bhp with the 1.6 16v.

175bhp would be *plenty* with a light car like the Lupo/Arosa. I reckon 200bhp would be your absolute maximum.

cheers fro the TSR info, at the mo it seems there are two choices
1- 1.6 16v lupo engine, it drops straight in, minimum fuss Price?
2 TRS will also turbo charge the 1.4 8v to 100Bhp for £2500

I think the Polo GTI uses exactly the same lump, so you may be able to use this to broaden your options.

The VR6 Lupo, which usually appears at various VW events, would indeed handle like shite. Its no slouch on the dragstrip, but at the same time its also not as quick as you'd expect. Impressive feat, though.

I'd also be wary of a Turbo for £2500, sounds toooo cheap. You get what you pay for, and all that...

As for transplants, what about a 1.9TDi :D 250lb/ft of Torque in a Lupo would be amazing, in a torque-steery, wheelspinning-in-4th, overkill kinda way ;)

a W8 would bit a little OTT

Oh, I don't know

Mid mount it, longitudinally (spelling?) and chop up a Heldax (again, spelling?) system of a Golf/Bora/whatever and you'd have a seriously fast Lupo/Arosa.

With a bit of shifting sure you could get quite close to a 50/50 balance too. Although the car itself would come in well over a ton, but ffs...it would be very fast.

have E-mailed TSR and have asked for a rollin rollout fitting price for turbo charging my 1.4 8v 60bhp to 105bhp, looks like the best price vs perfomance compromise
