It's down to personal preference really Chris, but I'd suggest the Bilt Hamber soft clay to start with. Easy to work with, strong enough to deal with a car that's never been done before, but also gentle enough on the paint. Only needs water as a lubricant too.

Hope that helps. :)

Yep, I would still recommend the BH soft clay for you.
Get some wax on after the SRP then you won't need to use it all the time. If you like the extra bling after using SRP try a quick detailer or a spray wax instead, something like Dodo Red Mist or Mark V Fast Wax, these don't contain any abrasives (which SRP does) so won't be slowly wearing your top coat away. :)

So it’s a case of, I use the BH soft clay first….. Then use the super resin polish and seal with a wax with the ones you have recommend
1. wash car
2. dry car
3. BH soft clay
4. SRP
5. WAX Dodo Red Mist or Mark V Fast

i dont think you dry the car. thats what i read anyway. use the water thats on the car for the clay. im sure someone will correct me if im wrong??
I keep the hose running onto the panel without the nozzle whilst I clay the car (for lube) and I usually give the car another quick wash afterwards as the clay can leave a residue, not sure if that's necessary though?

Sort of, but not everytime you wash. :)
So two or three times a year:
Wash -> Clay -> Dry -> SRP -> Durable Wax (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/index.php?view=category&category_id=2)
Then when you do a regular wash:
Wash -> Dry
OR
Wash -> Dry -> Red Mist (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=177) or Fast Wax (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=107)
OR
Wash -> Showroom Finish (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=63) & Dry at the same time.
Red Mist and Fast Wax will last a good few weeks, but my suggestion above about topping off the SRP with a wax I had in mind a paste wax that will be more durable and last longer. One of the panel pots will do a Leon size car a good few times so will last a while if you didn't want to spend out on the bigger pots.

You can leave the car wet, but you'll still need a spray bottle to keep the area well lubricated. With the Bilt Hamber clay I don't find you get a lot of, if any, residue left on the car, so a quick rinse before drying should be all that is needed really. But I tend to just dry as I go.

Yes, leave water on the car as reduces chances of damaging paint work by dry clay hitting dry paint. I use Gloss It Gloss Enhances as well as the remaining water on the car, works great with Clay. Super lush smell too!! Really finishes the paint off with a super deep gloss.
