im after a bit of advice i have the following setup

lcr bam engine which has 82.5 pistons in it
stronger ie rods
uprated inlet and exhaust valves
apr head bolts
ported and polished head,
k04 hybrid turbo (cr turbo)
water meth kit

all other stage 2 mods

when a high flow mani comes out will get one of them

clutch is out a tt quottro as been told work well, have wavetrack diff as well,

thing is once i come back from afghan will be rebuilding the car and not sure what type of map to have, ive wondered what would be best for a lcr ko4 hybrid, a really torquey map or a map like bill done recently where the torque was lower but had 315 bhp,
whats best for a lcr as read the hybrids can have a huge amount of torque or would it be better with more bhp, dont know what would be faster as thinking of doing some quater miles in future, had a few places that said could map certian ways just wondering whats best , also dont want turbo to die,

thankyou

2wd, too much = wheelspin

what too much torque or bhp? and i thought diff would help resuce this? whats the most torque would put through front wheels of a daily driver. would you map for bhp or torque? a
ive had uprated valves should i get the springs and retainers done as well? thankyou

the hybrid pulled to just over 7k on steves s3, so std springs should be adequate.. its not a top end turbo

fwd torque is what will spin up, especially in anything other than dry conditions.. spikey torque like is inherant on these is what would spin away your traction, even with a diff.. diffs dont help much putting power down off the line, but thru the slower speed twisties.

i try to make it smooth usually unless asked to make it aggressive a la robbiec's ibiza

i am still wondering about the torque figures off my dyno,.. they do seem lower than most others claim for similar spec's remapped cars, however, std cars are on the money on std torques.

ok bill cheers, you think dyno goving incorrect torque and would you think 320 would be achivable as i have water meth, slight overbore and also ported and polished head, would you say would be worth changing springs as i am currently having engine rebuilt, have uprated valves allready .

keep the revs in the 7k's and stock springs should be adequate I think

I think my dyno is giving torque in the same region the ecus thinks its giving torque in the case of steve's k04 hybrid... but this is a lower number than others report.. power seems spot on tho.. so make of that what you will.

would you say his hybrid is fast then for a 300 bhp car and whats the prices for mapping? would you adjust the water meth to work with the map? and would you be able to push it more with water meth fitted,

also hoping to have a high flow mani once one comes out :-)

it was fast for a lardy s3 definately.. 281g/s airflow !
wmi is an ideal partner as the temperstures rocket thru the small k04/manifold combo

you can tune for wmi, or just choose to use it to keep a lid on temps and CF's, by varying the wmi %. You can get more power tuning ign for it yes.
stage 3 is £550+vat from me, includes before/after dyno & logs

would using it to keep a lid on tempertures allow you to push the turbo a bit more, when i brought the turbo was told should be able to flow 350, and if i change my valve springs should i also change the hydraulic lifters? was thinking of these springs,

are you going to put any of your mapped cars onto other rollers to see if its your rollers giving low torque?

thankyou

i dont think you will never achieve such claimed figures from the hybrid.. they verge on fiction imho

as for my rollers on low torque, the pd150 leon yesterday made 322lbft peak torque when mapped with cc1, and 205bhp, so i dont think its out currently. started with 175bhp/260lbft

ok cheers bill, what you think would be possible and what about them valve springs, says there good for 8k
