View Full Version : Car Back to Cheshunt for the SIXTH TIME!
Well, I had my car back two days after not haing it for nearly two weeks after the Master Cylinder went on the car.
Somebody at the dealership had my car and when I got it back it had an extra 500 odd miles on  Also the car was in shit state and an alloy was curbed!
Took it back tonight and fairs fair it is one persons fault and I am now back in an Arosa at the moment... I must say that I remained pretty calm and the dealership are sorting it out!
Nowt to do with the dealership but one person taking the F*****G piss!
Some people have no respect!
Si
i've had em like that si,used my car to go and fetch parts and reports came back of the guy riding round town in my car and thrashing up the by-pass, road testing they said
needless to say i don't use them anymore(not seat dealer btw)
If ANY dealer put 500 miles on the car without my prior knowledge that would be one dealer I would not be going back too.
Shame to hear that.
Thats 5% of the way onto your next service!!!, surely you should be charging them for the use of it in addition to them repairing your wheel and cleaning it?,
17 pence per mile sounds reasonable to me, so you should be looking for £85 from them, write them a letter and address it to the service manager, and keep a copy of it yourself too, if it is in writing they will take it a lot more seriously than if you go down and talk to them about it
Si
I fully agree with Mosser, put everything in writing, only way to get results.
Inform them that if they do not compensate you that all correspondence will be forwarded to Seat UK.
Crikey - 500 miles would wind me up BIG TIME. I agree with Mosser - write them a letter - and CC Seat UK. No harm in adding a few comments about intending to contact watchdog/press people, and finally ask them what they intend to do about it. 500 miles + curbing is well out of order.
P
Nowt to do with the dealership but one person taking the F*****G piss!
Si - I disagree with the "Nowt to do with the dealership" bit.
At the end of the day, whoever put this mileage onto your car is/was an employee of this company and the company as a whole is responsible for this.
If you swopped cars on the basis - "You take mine, I'll use yours" - then the situation is different. Having a Sales Exec's Ibiza Cupra as a courtesy car is not a normal arrangement.
However, if the arrangement was that your car was left with Cheshunt Motor Co solely for the rectification of faults then it should not have been driven except for road testing.
I'm sure I'll soon read the outcome of this here.
Brian.

It would be one dealer that I wouldnt keep on my signature either!!!
That is disgracful, doesnt matter if its one person or five people at the garage. They are employees of the garage.
I'd be more hacked off than you are!
Depending on how many miles you've done, I'd be asking for another car. I suppose if it's a few thousand financial compensation is a minimum and definately a new wheel. I think the bad comments/press that this site can give could also be good leverage for satisfaction. I agree with the written approach with copies to SEAT UK, would be interesting to see their responce as well.
How can u not be  MAD:devil: at the dealership?!!?? The people they employ to sort yur car out is their responsibilty!
Forget how *nice* Peter has been, at the end of the day, they're just Car Salesmen. You do realise that the reason Peter was so nice to u is becuase they are an OFFICIAL Seat garage, they get BAARRREEE commision from selling u a car, from Seat themselves!
Thats why I got mine from an independant Seat garage, more "honest" (less commision & not from Seat), and u can haggle more.
Written letters to;
a) head office
b) the garage demanding an explanation & appology, compensation, and that geeza who clocked the miles sacked!
Personally, Id be SCREWIN' mate! I really would!

if anything it will make sure that they will not do it again.
did the alloy get chipped when parking or flying around

500 miles to test a clutch master cylinder?
summat not right here, at a garage i did my apprentice ship we had this car kept coming back with reacurring probs, we eventually sussed the fualt but as this car was being exported to spain.
We wanted to make damn sure it worked so the boss took it for test drive to folkstone and back after we seeked permission from the owner the total milage was about 150-200 miles.
id ask them for explanation theyve used it as a runaround I bet, you will be surprised how many garages still do this practise
then again the milage may be genuine test milage, but it would have been curtios from the dealer to have told you about the milage b4 u discovered, and they should have washed the car at least.
i would also want the alloy sorted as well.
Guys many thanks for all of your constructive and helpful comments and I have taken them all on board as I decide what to do.
The reason that I have posted is to be fair really, I have been accused of working for SEAT Cheshunt and now you will see that I have had the same type of problems as everybody else. I believe that if you have been done well by then you should post the good stuff, but when you are done wrong by you shoud also post about that as well and thats what I like about this forum, we are a voice that people should take seriously!
At the end of the day without going too much into the story and boring you all to death, there was a problem with the car and I am a trusting and fair person and I trusted someone with the car and they have abused it and my trust!
It took me 10 years before I could buy a brand new car and I chose Cheshunt and A SEAT, I love the car and thats whay I am so upset about what has happened!
I will be taking this further even though I was contacted by the MD today and made to feel bad about saying something and to be told that I should be grateful for the full tank of petrol (already had half a tank) and a free valet ( car went back washed)
Any comments or helpful suggestions would be happily received by me as It should not happen to anybody!
I have been pretty restraind so far and my complaint will be dealt with correctly!
Many thanks!
Si and Nicci (two very unhappy customers)
What about the Alloy? if it were me id go back to the dealer, whip the wheel orf and stick it on their nice shiny counter and with a smile i would ask them to sort it pointing out that the damage was done in their care.
if yer gona put 172s on it then i guess there would be no point:cool:
Dont worry Stu, everything will be commented on to be honest...none of it should have happened with a customers car!
Anyway I am off cos I am in a SHIT mood!
Si
500 miles in nearly two weeks. It's 50 miles per day the workshop was open. That's a lot of miles if it was only used as a ride into town for parts. To my mind, and I'm the suspicious vindictive sort, that's courtesy car mileage.
F**king W**kers.
:repuke:
Dunno at the moment mate to be honest......It's a mystery, maybe the person used it to take his grandmother to hospital and found that there were none available in Enfield and so proceeded to drive to John O Groats?
Or he showed 300 customers on a 2 mile journey in the car!
Or They took it to Spain to pick up the part for it?
Who knows and I dont think that I will ever find out!

personally, id be furious, my car showed up 9 miles on my last service, though they did explain that they did have to test tthe car for the dash creaks and the new gearbox, in my opinion 9 miles is plenty, 500 miles is into ann robinson territory, go on , email her with your story!!! , no kidding, im serious!!
Si,
put into perspective mate ....
500 miles at 80mph = 6 1/4 hours of driving time!
Is that how long it takes 2 *TEST* ????
.....I get the impression that every1 else is more irrate about the situation than you!?!?!?
Si
What about a nice little feature in the local paper, prefferably the free one on the front page. That ought to get the garage jumping a little. As long as it truthful there no comeback and it might bring others out of the woodwork its happened to in your area. Amazing the power of the media!!
LOCAL MAN GETS RIPPED OFF BY SEAT DEALER
[i]
I will be taking this further even though I was contacted by the MD today and made to feel bad about saying something and to be told that I should be grateful for the full tank of petrol (already had half a tank) and a free valet ( car went back washed)
[/B]
All i can say is cheeky bastid :p I wouldn't feel bad its him who should feel bad. That would only make me fume    more !!!!
COMPLETE ARSE
Sorry but i was treated like this by a Vauxhall Dealer, and i shouted a lot, and generally pissed them off, that in the end they bowed to the fact they were in the wrong and sorted my problems.
They may be able to run around in cars with no care in the world, but some of us have saved for a long time, and/or gone into debt for a while to afford a new shiny car, i for one would expect better treatment.
I used to get service and good treatment from my dealer, but then SEAT decided to shut them down, ooh good. The closest one to me is a monkey outfit now :p
Their tag line is We know you'll like us. :p erm excuse me, i dont, and dont presume to think so.
Mark,
Dont apologise mate these are all constructive comments that need to come out, and I can't even explain to you how I am feeling at the moment and being fobbed off like some silly little kid I find unbelievable and annoying:(
I will now just have to wait and see what comes back to me as I have already had a phone call this morning and I get the impression that they want things tobe dealt with very quicky and that my complaint is pretty trivial!
I have not considered anything else yet other than teh fact that the letter is going to SEAT Uk and the office of fair trading, should I need to then I will bring it to he attention of the media including using my connections at Max Power, but I dont want to be rash at the end of the day!
Its about time that we all got a little bit of respect having all shelled out at least £12,000 upwards in most cases of our money!
I am in sales and I do not treat people as a bit of money making item!
Ho hum on we go!
Si
Mate of mine's girlfriend got serious grief from a dealership a few months back. In a drunken stupor he staggered over there one night and decided to kick in all the headlights of the cars on the forecourt!!
Quite amusing, though I don't think such action would be advisable in this case!
I've had a lot of trouble with Ford dealers in the past (oops sorry I swore again), they put the wrong type of oil in my car once and I had a lot of trouble with it after about a month. Took it back and they fobbed me off with some load a' shite. AND I BELIEVED IT!!!!
Said somethin else was wrong and charged me £180!!! Only found out much later what happen. Wish I'd kicked up a stink now. Ah well I was young and foolish.
Give em hell Si.
Si
I know it’s shite having to deal with things like this, but persevere with it. Mark, (ZBOYD), is right – piss them off and keep up the pressure. Let them know that you are not prepared to let this drop until you are completely satisfied.
Very ironical, 4 threads below yours ‘Seat Cheshunt - I'm impressed!’
Good luck
Bazzer
Yeah I just read through that thread, it's a real shame they messed up so badly with Si's car. That 'I'm Impressed' thread makes them out to be gods!
My local dealer is Sidlow Seat, and I'm gettin worried about takin the car in for a service in 5000 miles! Hopefully they'll do a diamond job.
Si
the bottom line here is, make sure u take the strongest possible action, or you'll regret it with hindsight!
The majority of us should have all learnt from the past, after bad experiences, even me with my car.
I kicked up a fuss and got;
- batteries in remote changed
- new spark leads
- new wiper blades
- new ECU!!!
- minor bodywork replacements
- new seat belts
all free of charge after I haggled £500 off the askin price for the car aswell.
u won't regret it!! ;) S'all good.
"shit on them b4 they shit on u"
Guys,
I dont want to shit on anybody at the end of the day I want what has happened rectified, when summat like this happens you cannot really get any form of compensation that will make you forget can you?
Some people wont be pushed around at the end of the day and I will certainly not be fobbed off by a company no matter what the size of it, some customers just give up and get scared, well not me , it will go on until It gets sorted!
We faxed and emailed the letter today and when Nicci phoned up it was " sorry it aint here hol don a moment" " no it definatly aint here" "will check again" "no, oh hold on its with the MD" mmmm!
I have had no phonecall yet so I am waiting with anticipation!
Time for dealerships to realise that customers do have a say and will not be fobbed off!
It all makes me feel

Si,
On one side I'm glad to hear that this doesn't only happen in Portugal. On the other obviously this kind of sh*t will just about tick anyone off.
I personally haven't been through one of these ordeals but if I did I'd probably do a RAMBO !! on someone at the dealership.
The sad thing is that this is happening all over the world and i am not the first and I am not gonna be the last either so I guess that when I do this hopefully as the internet grows then so will our voice and then we might be taken seriously as this should not have to happen to anybody!
Si
I'll tell you another story,
when we bought our Ala bahmier (Alhambra) off kinghams of croydon, the service we got b4 we signed on the dotted line and put our money down was first class, a salesman who gave us space when we inspected the showroom vehicle and not hovering over us, the sales man even went to the bother of getting the vehicle out of the showroom to give us a testdrive on appointment and he even didnt come with us on the testdrive it self, no pressure or what! and we even got free alloys as well!
After we got the car and it was its first service, their attitude was stony an uncooperative and tried charging for free servicing. we have never gone back since.
Same thing happened with my Ibiza, although it was a Renualt dealer (formally Seat) helpful salesman, reasonable part ex for my old skoda although a little restirctive with the test drive. the car was bought and within a few days I had a leccy problem, so i took it back to the dealer, the once helpful salesman was not overjoyed to see me and had a surley attitude all of a sudden and sorted the prob as if it was too much of a bother, the prob was sorted and he came out with the comment
'try looking in the handbook next time' in a sarcastic way. I was completley dumfounded by this treatment and thought 'you c**t!'
I got back into the car and drove off and have never been back since.
had I been in a foul mood god knows what might of happened.
To be hinest Stu, I cant really fault Cheshunt for the after service until this happened and its downt one person at the end of the day, but this one person represents the company and I am amazed that they are letting salespersons get away with this sort of behaviour!
I had posted on the way that I had been treated and had only posative things to say, but as soon as you seem to say summat that they do not like they want to keep it quiet and shuv it under the carpet, they enjoy the praise but cannot accept the other way as well!
What a sad individual this person turned out to be and it seems that more people have had similar situations as well, makes your mind boggle!
Si
Yeah Si m8, get the ****ers 4 it, get a new wheel, free service 4 a year r more n a load of more free packages 4 all the grief n shit they have giving ya, r u'll be seeing them in court 4 misuse of ur car and dont stop there, do them 4 other thing, and get the knob-boy 4 doing all those miles n ur motor ?
.....and get the drinks cooler from them free, as part of compensation too!!!! :D haha
Si, as you say, gernerally after sales service is good there.......and although its now down to the dealer to sort out, it wasn't nessessarly an "After sales" person that fu*ked it!!!
I wish you luck!!!
Paulo (prc), how come your English is so good???
Neil,
At the end of the day all actions at a dealership have to come down to somebody and unfortunatly that means SEAT Cheshunt are left responsible!
Anyway did you get the things that you were promised?
Naaah didnt think so!
Si

I live in Portugal but ... I was born and lived most of my 33 yrs in the States
After reading this I don't think I'll use Seat Cheshunt again.
I used them for the first time last week for my 20000 mile service after recently moving to Hertfordshire and after reading the good comments about them. Everything seems ok although it was only a basic service.
I don't want to give them the opportunity to do this in my car.
Dreamer,
Dont get me wrong but this may have just been an isolated incident and only really involves one person that has now left the company, as I have said apart from this I cannot fault them so please dont take it that its like this all the time!
Cheers.
Si
Well nothing heard yet guys..... letters have gone and I aint heard a thing, oh well I can sit tight for as long as it takes I guess!
Does anyone have any idea at all what the National Standard id for pence per mile on your car?
Please let me know!
Ta.
Si
I understand that it was only one member of staff, but it's the attitude of the MD regarding your complaint that has put me off more than anything.
Dreamer,
Well that is a fair and valid point, I just dont want you thinking that its all bad cos it is not and It is now up to them to sort it all out and then see what happens and if and when Its sorted out then I can come back on and tell all, thats what this section of the forum is all about, letting people know, its fair to say good and bad at the end of the day! ;)

Auto Express or What Car mag might have it in the back, failing that try AA website or even 4car website. I'd guess for an Ibiza cupra it would be in the region of 45p/mile
Cheers for that mate, at that rate its a bit of money and all wear and tear on the car and the value has now dropped!
Si
Otherwise Si would probably be in court being sued + the forum being shut down;)
Best story I got is from back in '97 at the VW dealer. One guy got so pissed off for having to returning to the dealership 1/2 dozen times that he went out purchased a junked golf I and left it in front of the dealerships main entrance (spray painted with phrases like "don't come hear these guys will only rip you off" etc etc);)
All I have put is fact though mate and I have been very choosey with words and so I have done it on fact and not heresay!
Si

I'm not saying that u haven't. I believe u, but I've seen quite a bit of strange sh*t happen back in the US.
Better said:
"Dealer probably has more money than U which means better lawyer which in the US means case Won!, Forget the Facts....";)
Mart,
Cheers for your comments mate, I would like to say that these comments are totally my own opinion and not those of anybody else! lol!
PRC....I hear where you are coming from and a very close mate it a commercial lawyer and deals with this everyday so any legal action or advice would be free!
However I have just received a fax from the MD os lets hope that it doesnt go that far!
People have a right to stand up for themselves as I am doing!

More power to you!!
Cheers,
It may serve as a reminder that people power can sometimes have the desired errect especially the media!
lol
Si
Regarding a previous post.......
45p per mile is well expensive! Sure thats right?
I worked my car (only a 1.4 tho) to average about 8p a mile!
Smithy,
I was told bout 17p per mile!
So you gonna be around this week, mind you I aint coming out till I get my car back!
Si
Retained value after 3 years & 36,000 miles is 37%
so:
37% of 13,000 is 4810
There for 36,000 miles looses (13000-4810) £8190
8190/36000 = 0.2275 pence per mile.
Take into account servicing costs too. wear & tear & it soon creeps up.
All I can say is i'm damn glad I haven't lost £8190 on my car in three years!!! lol
17p a mile sounds about right, esp if u use the 97 petrol which is pricy-er, & da engine is a FAIR bit thirstier than mine LOL
Im around dis week, off college til feb 4th. God its a hard life :D
give us a bell when u get yur motor back mate.
take it easy
Cheers for that thought Mark makes me feel a lot better I must say!
Smithy......yeah I aint coming out in the Arosa cos its embaressing mate, will let you know when!
Si
Si
The 45p/mile was a rough guess, but it includes depreciation, servicing, petrol and all other running costs.
Mark P's 22.7p give the depreciation so the running costs for petrol servicing etc are on top of that.
When programs like Driven etc do road tests they give the cost per mile on there. Take last nights program, for an Audi A4 3.0 Avant it was something like 60p/mile.
Don't get blinded by the cost of petrol only, plus does your insurance company ask you for expected anual milage to calculate your premium, if so someone's just used 500miles of that!!
Cheers mate and thanks for the info.
I am limited on my yearly mileage to 5000 miles per year and I believe that I then get charged per mile over after that and my insurance is expensive as it is without more costs!
At the end of the day you cannot put the miles and the depreciation back onto the car, its not a massive thing its more the principle of somebody doing that many miles and not been able to have it explained why this has happened?
I am sure that there will be some reason or maybe I just miscalculated the mileage and did not have my glasses on that day!
No compensation can give you back the bad feeling in your mouth about the whole situation and the lack of trust and resepect that comes with it
Ta raa
Si
Well still flying or sorry going very slow as it does in the Arosa and stil waiting to sort out the car    :o :(
Si is  of it all!
I only hope yur ragging it ridiculously hard, and the tyres are given back as slicks :D
pre-compensation call it ;)
What do you mean getting your own back or treating somebody elses property with the same respect sort of thing!
I wish mate but then that would make me as bad as them wouldnt it lol lol!
Si
Gee Si how knightly of you....
What a gentleman you are, should at least curb a wheel though. he he he :D
Only thing is that the dealership read this forum and I aint gonna say anything other that what happened and the truth and any other comments will remain all to myself lol!
Yes I am pissed off and all of that but It would not be a good idea to do the same back would it and I am sure that you would agree!
:p
Ho hum diddly dee
Si
How much do you reckon half a tank of petrol for a Ibiza Cupra and half a valet comes to???? Any ideas????
Si
half a valet??? lol
Chimps always do da work cos there aint nuffin else 2 do except sit in their small inclosures, so we're talkin minimal $$$ for valeting.
Is a 1.4 tank the same as a 1.8 20VT tank? If so, its about £15ish lets say.
......also Si, it looks like sum kids have been doing burn-outs outside yur flat :D (j/k! - if Chesunt do read this LOL)
Yeah it was probably you mate in someones Nova 1.3 SR with a Max Power sticker and Halfords Stick on Tail Pipe ;)
Well I dunno what is happening at the moment with it mate I am just speaking to a lawyer friend and then I am gonna go down and sort this all out before I get any more stressed than I already am
Si
I hope you're being kind to the clutch...
is that hand brake always fully released?
speaking of Nova's  ......(off the subject but funny)
my mate with a 1.2 Nova, had crashed it into a curb and buckled the wishbone and destroyed the tyre ....(typical Nova driver lol)
Anyway, was left for about a month, battery dead too. So wot happens ......some *******s crow-bar the door open outside his house, and try and hot wire it!! ROFL
When he told me, he was screwin, but I was creasing!!! :D haha
The car was leaning to one side aswell FFS! Must b kids. He lives in a nice area too, aint like Brixton exactly.
Anyways - its friday nite, wtf am I doing on my PC!
Yes Mark the hand brake is fine and I have been behaving myself so no worries at all lol!

I was contacted by the MD today and made to feel bad about saying something and to be told that I should be grateful for the full tank of petrol (already had half a tank) and a free valet ( car went back washed)
I think the MD should apologise. It's disgusting.
I can't imagine you said 'here you go, trash an alloy, dirty the car, abuse my trust, 15 quids worth of fuel will make up for that'
It really winds me up when people don't respect property: It took me 10 years to work up to a new car as well, and a couple of dealers haven't treated it as well as I'd like. Ok, to them it's just another Ibiza, but it represents a lot of my hard earned cash. It's very dissapointing some dealers don't treat my car with the care I do (and expect from dealers)
Insist they replace/refurb the wheel. Go to Seat Uk if neccesary.
I'd also think about using another dealer: I took my Ibiza to the supplying dealer for it's 1st service, and while nothing was really damaged, there was a lack of attention evident-oil spillages etc. I never went back, and they've since changed hands. (Sundial, Birmingham). The dealer there now seem OK, but I've only used them once.
You paid good money for the car, and pay a high labour charge for services. In my book you should get A1 service.
Well the latest is............
I met with the MD today for a two hour meet and I was offered the sum of either 352 miles at 17 pence per mile or the use of a dealership cupra for the said number of miles!
Needless to say that I left and it is not over and I am no further satisfied with the outcome, in fact I am disgusted that the fact was that and I quote "It is unacceptable what has happened" and I have been offered the above!
As apparantly these comments carry no wait according to the dealership and the fact that it may become a legal situation I feel that it is not right to make comment anymore as apparantly the comments do not make any diffrence!
Many thanks for all the comments and I know that Cheshunt Motor Company will be reading these comments as they had all been printed off when I got to the dealership!
Needless to say that both me and Nicci are upset and disgusted at our treatment!
Si and Nicci
Sounds like it is time to get the solicitors involved properly and take this to court, it is a matter of all the stress and time that you have suffered now that needs to be taken into account,
You can take this matter to the small claims court for quite a reasonable fee nowdays, and claim for damages to your wheel, excess mileage costs, and time taken to sort this out and compensation for the stress caused by the problems, and if you are succesful (which i see no reason why you shouldnt be), you can also get the courts costs awarded against the garage including your lawyer representation fees.
Good luck with it !
Mosser,
Cheers mate this is what I now have to consider very carefully this weekend to be honest and then see where I stand!
Si
The honeymoon is over eh? its a shame that the situation has turned so sour especially after the praise you gave them.
Our relationship with a skoda dealer who we trusted very much to the extent that we were on first name basis with the MD's ended in a simular way when they stitched us up for a new ringgear and flywheel and a starter motor+labour , where a new battery would have sufficed..........
Contacting Seat UK HQ seems to be yer next move:rolleyes:
One thing that did annoy me and Nicci the most was the comment that postings on this site are pretty irrelevant...... well 50,000 views a day is pretty relevant I feel!

They are only saying that the comments on this site carry no weight because they are trying to make you settle it quickly without fuss,
I personally would turn this into a big media event, if you do take this to court and get say, £500 out of it, it is peanuts to them really, what they can really do without is you contacting local newspapers, radio stations and points of view or similar about it, that could be far more damaging to them than a court case, and get you more sympathy and maybe even an apology from the MD !!! (or am i going too far!!!:D ),
You should call any radio shows that offer legal advice on air, write a letter to the BBC (points of view( look them up on the web maybe)), and contact your local newspaper about it,
After this has happened, then it is time to consider a court case if they dont want to offera reasonable settlement, and the longer they let it drag on, the worse it will get for them and the bigger their settlemant will have to be.
Good luck with it mate!
Alex french from bromley got his plight published in a newspaper and i think he reached a satisfactory conclusion.
Si, ive read this entire thread again and you have been more than reasonable so far. Its time to cuase some bad publicity I think.
you could try yer local rag but i doubt they will publishe anything condemning if the dealer in question has advertising within the paper.....

Mosser i think you mean BBC Watchdog. as points of view is just about praise and complaining about the programmes on the BBC :D
And to top it off Terry Wogan hosts it :)
I say write to a paper, national one would be nice, and contact Watchdog let them take it up.
Dont forget to mention the website and club :D
Cheers Mark!!, thats the one i meant:D , couldnt remember the name of it at all, mind went blank!
..... maybe I just miscalculated the mileage and did not have my glasses on that day!
Si - If you go to Court, you may have just shot yourself in the foot by posting this. :( :( :(
Cheers for that Brian........ not exactly sure what you mean when you say that?
The comments that I have made on here are the same ones that I have made to Cheshunt Motor Company.
I know that you maybe dont want to say anything that might hurt your good relationship with Cheshunt Motor Company and thats fine.
At the end of the day any decision that I make will be my own and not influenced by anybody else, however this forum is at it suggests "SEAT Dealers Your Say" and thats what I am doing, sharing my experience with other users of this forum, and at the end of the day as I have been told by a few people now, I have been very rational.
Stu, I have got the contact for the Journalist that Alex spoke to so I can bear that in mind, BUT not before myself and Cheshunt have another chance at resolving the situation!
I have received good serivice from Cheshunt in the past and my hope is that the situation can be resolved to everybodys satisfaction!
Cheers.

They are taking the piss I presume- If i was them i'd be worried- Even if you don't go the legal route, the fact that hundreds (how many members are there?) of people who by definition are interested in or own Seats have just read what happened. If I lived in the area I know where I wouldn't be going. Like I said in another post, Sundial in Birmingham treated my car badly, so I never went back there, and another dealer did very well out of me for accessories, parts, and servicing.
DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH SIMON'S CAR AND DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF SIMON TAKING LEGAL ADVICE.
IN REGARDS TO THIS MATTER AND WITH HIS AGREEMENT IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO CLOSE THIS THREAD.
