only did 4 laps, 3 on sat . . didnt time the first, i was just looking to get round. 2nd was 11.17, 3rd 11.05. 4th was on sunday in the rain and got 13.09. they closed the track whilst i was on, a big porsche crash.
i was suprsied at how much grip it gave. no matter how much i chucked it about the ESP only kicked in twice. it just ran out of go at the top of the rev range but then it is the first diesel ive taken on a track, so its prob normal.
out cornered quite a few things, 56plate octavia vrs , 2 Integra type r's, vectra vxr, but they were all quicker on the straights.
id be interested what time the 1.9tdi A4 would get. just to see if the suspension revamp actually worked.
Im not sure how that compares to other stnd road cars but i know that German woman thats been on top gear a few times managed to get a transit van around in like 10 minutes or sumet lol.
What model is yours rude?

exeo st sport with the 170cr tdi
i know, bit embarassing that she can take a van round in 10mins and i cant manage it im a car!
she even manged a 9min 12 in a jag s-type diesel, but it was a 2.7 twin turbo. a whole 39bhp more. clarkson managed a 9.59

Thing is if you crash your motor trying to pin down a ten minute lap, unlike Clarkson or Sabine you can't walk away without consequence. Costs can be huge.
I did 3 laps in April and on a cold slightly damp track got 10m:39s with a passenger on board. As you have to pull over for faster cars you lose time, then on occasions this puts you off line which loses more time. But as I had a further 1000 miles to go on the road trip (with the wife) to Stuttgart, Strasbourg and then back to Blighty I wasn't going to risk even running wide.
As long as you enjoy the experience its all good.

proof that im not the only one to go round in a exeo.
on the same day too.
I think thats what slowed me down, the fact that if i as much as scrapped the car the chances of getting home were slim.
unlike clarkson and sabine who just get out and say something sarcastic then go home in something else.
Plus they are seasoned drivers where as were not well im not ive raced my old Nova 10 year ago at Silverstone but that was just for fun and even then i wasnt much good. As your not doing it competitively i dont think there is a need for embarrassment just then need of enjoyment! My next door neighbour goes the ring about 4 times a year i bet if i gave him the car he would be able to do sumet with it but again, he knows the track. His mate had to leave his Porche over there for a week as he did sumet to the engine ragging it around that track. It was an expensive trip
