Hi All

I have noticed over the past few months that when I accelerate going down hill there seam to be a bit of a flat spot & a lack of power for about a second, then it takes off again.

This morning however it did it on a flat & streight road!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody else experienced this??????????

Yes, it's funny you should say that but I've suddenly noticed this the last couple of days and was going to put a thread on tonight about it.

It's never done it on a flat road for me but certainly does it on downhills. It's as though the fuel is slooshing to the front and not enough is getting into the engine or something daft - I doubt that's what causes it but it's the only thing I can think of....

We can't be the only two. It is quite a noticeable lack of power too isn't it - almost like a coil has gone temporarily?

I have had it too on my 170 deisel. Not on "the flat", but there is a particular right turn I take off a main road that decends as you turn off the main road. As you say, for a second, flatspot, nothing, then its fine. This happens in Suffolk, which is suppose to be flat!! Anyone in hilly locations, this may become quite noticable

Suggest its fuelling, but await others to reply...

I have the 140 engine and yes I have noticed a distinct momentary loss of power as soon as the car drops down over the crest of a hill. Doesn't cause a problem, just feels strange.

Very interesting. I noticed exactly the same problem as Noel Ates over a crest with my new company 140 diesel. First apparent with less than 2K on the clock. Took the car to my local dealer but no problem found on the computer check. They said they would report it to Seat if anyone else had seen the same problem. Nothing heard since. I was starting to think it was my imagination! Obviously not an isolated problem. Never happens on the flat and only intermittently over a crest. Anyone had an explanation from their dealer or Seat?

Thanks for the useful comments.

Not really noticed it before, but having read this thread the other week and having 'knowledge' of the issue, I experienced it over the weekend when driving over Dartmoor.

Heading up a steep incline, to then go over a rise and down the other side, having eased off the throttle going over the rise, I then pressed the accelerator again to increase speed going down the decline, only to experience a momentary (~1-2sec) loss in power.

The car is in the dealers on Monday & Tuesday next week for investigative work on the 'grinding' issue I've got, so will get them to check it over for this issue to whilst they've got it for 2 days!

Will get them to file a report with Seat UK if they can't resolve it. The more instances of it that are reported, the more likely it is that Seat UK will find a proper resolution.
