Yes, that should be fine for that engine as long as it's at least a couple of years old.

Thank you Tim. It was just a case of if I was missing something fundamental.

Technically XFE PD is not recognised as the recommend oil for PD's nowadays due to the fancy 5/30W stuff.

Yes, it's not right for the later VAG diesels, but fine for the earlier ones and plenty of other engines.
