Just wondered, will anyone be buying one?

I know we all slagged it off in earlier threads, but it could be a good buy. They have tweeked the suspension and you still get the 1.8T 20VT to play with.

TBH i think it'll be a great little car! I know everyone slagged it off for not being 'enough'. But at the end of the day, like you say, it has the 20VT engine so will be very tunable and it should handle well enough. I think there will be quite a few sold. When does it come out though and is their a deffo price yet? That will determine what it'll sell like.

It comes with a pre-kevv'd dashboard and no features, so someone will buy one...

...someone... somewhere..... maybe....

If it's cheap it will sell, and it will have to be cheap as no-one I know would consider one!

Everyone? I don't recall slagging it. After all, it's a sleeper. Sleepers rock. And why? Because:
Big lumps of plastic are heavy.
Big lumps of plastic often introduce extra drag.
Big lumps of plastic are also often unsightly.
On these grounds, bodykits suck. Which is why sleepers rock.

I doubt it will be poverty spec. This will be the flagship Ibiza model after all.

If the pricing is right, folks will buy it. I must say though, I think it's a great shame that they didn't go for an independant rear suspension arrangement for any of the mk4 Ibiza's. Don't get me wrong, with the right spring and damper rates with matched ARB's, single wishbones with MacPhearson struts and a semi trailing dead beam axle can be a fine arrangement and it has the makings of a very capable little chassis. I suspect it will receive bad writes ups on account of this though as it's "old fashioned". Well, I say b*llocks to fashion, if it ain't broke and it's fit for purpose, why change it?
