I have always used 10w40 Part synthetic Magnatec oil but, lately my tappets have been getting increasingly noisy. I have tried adjusting the tappets but, they are still noisy. Im due to do an oil change on the wee beastie and was just wondering what oil you could recommend me. I have been advised to try using 5w30 but, Im really not sure as my Arosa has done 90k so is a high mileage car. Can you suggest any additives that may help too ?

Is it tappety all the time or just when cold or hot? You could try 5w-30 or 5w-40. Dont worry about being at 90k, she is still running in ;)

A 5w-40 would be my first choice, something better than the magnatec.

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Synt S are good, cheaper alternatives.
