View Full Version : Fookin outside temperature!!!

As most of you probably know the AC only comes on when the outside temp is above 3C.
However my bloody sensor seems to think that the current temp outside is -16C and never goes above -5C, so the AC never comes on and in this type of weather the car gets abit steamy (which i hate! ).

Anyhoo does anyone else get this prob or can anyone think of a way i can fix it without taking the car to the wonderful guys at Seat?

Cheers

Mark:cheers:

Sounds like you need a new temp sensor!

I think it's in one of the wing mirrors somewhere, do a quick search.

If your cars under warranty, it should be a FOC job for a Seat Dealer really.

Cheers for that mate! :D

Better get down to Seat and get it fixed. Do you know if its an in out job or will they actually want me to leave the car there??

I would have thought it would take a few mins to replace, I guess it depends how busy they are.......

Ring them first to confirm & make sure they have one in stock too!

The sensor is underneath the nearside wing mirror and only takes a few seconds to replace.
It is common fault on the Ibiza's. Mine has gone twice now but both fixed under warranty

I've had my outside temp sensor replaced under warranty as well. They needed to replace the mirror along with the sensor, cos sometimes the mirror breaks when they to remove it.
Make sure that your heated mirror works afterwards though!! Had to get that sorted as well!!
