For info. Following on from the other thread re boost/power etc...
Scanners knackered so here's digi photo's of the latest Dyno's run.
My last and my latest (Tuesday) dyno @ Jabba. 18psi before 21psi now.

Jabba's Ibiza compared to my Tuesday run. - Again 1.25bar (Jabba) and 1.5bar (mine) - NOTE: Mine although has more torque and a little more power, it also drops off sooner. - HEAT and too high a boost level.

Emeralds Dyno of mine running 10psi boost and 21psi boost. Seperate runs, but I should have also run an 18psi run to compare against Jabba's Ibiza. - Heinsight is 20/20 after all

Also to note:
Last RR @ Stealth recorded 323lbft and 337bhp (dyno max'd) power level @ same 21psi max boost.
Actual run times on Jabba rollers is v.quick, which is good for minimal heatsoak, but then again slower run times will load up the motor more and heat will build. The biggest variable between RR dyno's seems to be run time and applied load. Emeralds Dyno was a very good one... Aircon'd :) and reasonable run times of around 20 secs or so. Low boost runs produced the same power levels on both Jabba and Emeralds RR.
EDIT: Directory of larger piccies is here>> http://badger-5.com/bin/Dyno/

I don't know the specific settings, but mike t does.
On the richer side to help cool things.

Maybe I am missing something but 18psi on the Jabba dyno gives 368hp on the flywheel compared to 327hp@21psi on the Emerald dyno. Calibration issues?
The Emerald dyno is interesting, I see on low setting the turbo hits boost 10psi/0,7bar past 3500rpm and on the high setting 21psi/1,5bar around 4250rpm. Torque looks like its limited on the low boost setting.
The boostgraphs tells me its spooling quit slower then the KKK or even my own Garrett turbo. But the IHI rules at high revs all the way to 7250rpms!

My interpretation is that the IHI'd Ibiza is VERY sensitive to heatsoak on a rolling road (But this isn't a real problem in the real world). Jabbas run is very quick and so heatsoak is minimised, whereas on the run at Emerald was a bit longer (No as long as some, but longer than Jabbas) and this allowed more heatsoak which naturally affected the power output. To make things even worse I think the extra heat on the Emerald run resulted in the knock sensor retarding the timing and so the power level was reduced still further.
As I say, thats my interpretation but I could be wrong.
Cheers

Nothing to do with IHI, but IBIZA specific yes.....
Heat Soak and 20VT engines (ecu) don't mix.... regardless of which turbo you bolt on. Point being, you don;t have to run IHI on high boost to crank higher numbers... which is LESS heat.
I am running silly high boost cos I can :p but track use is 1.25bar max as this is what its happiest at.

Run times between dyno's and heatsoak are a major difference between these dyno's.
The IHI (I run on the Ibiza) is slower to spool than its K03 used to be, but it keeps on rolling in when K03's have given up the ghost. Its actually the far more drivable package, despite the qty of power. :)
Full boost on the stock engine was from 2700rpm (only a little more than the K03 I had). My engine has lower CR now and a gas flowed head, both of which have pushed the power delivery up the rev band. - Important you know the full spec of the motor to make the right conclusion.
See you @ Stealth Sunday peeps.
:)
