air con compressor

how can you tell if your compressor had failed, does the ac flash or does it go out and wont come on at all like it does when it is really cold but at normal warm temps

If you can switch on your air con.
Look at the pulley on the Compressor (Whilst running) it should click on & off When required to do so.
The outer Pulley (One with the bolts) When off should be still whilst the rest of the pulley is still spinning, When the clutch engages the pulley it switches on and also spins round!
Therfore is working!!
If your air con won't switch on, Try the fuses first!!

thanks mate my ac flashes and when it is cold it doesnt come on at all, just wondering if you could tell by the flashing weather it is just a re gas or comp dont work

cant seem to find the compressor pulley which one down from the fan belt altrernator is it

If the cooling system breaks down the Vehicle silhoutte on the display shoud flash/flicker for about 5-10 seconds when ignition switched on!!

Its the one right at the front directly underneath the Alternator..

nearly shit my pants thinking the comp had gone, prob just need a re gas as it is only the ac flashing and not the car silouette
