My sisters motor 2ltr 8valve keeps stalling, push it to the side of the road and it goes again. I think its the idle valve but where abouts is this part? in the throttle housing? and is it a simple job just to clean it? she has already been told it was the coil amp. which I have done, but still not solved. now they want 190 squid to clean it all up.

I had this on my old 8v.. one of a few things...
throttle body - think its about £190 + VAT + 1 hour to fit or so.
idle control valve
or
throttle position sensor ...
give em a clean .. things may run better.

you say the car was pushed to the side of the road?
did it stall at a junction?
was it hard to restart?
if so it sounds more like a hall sender fault this is located in the dissy and picks up engine position>
