View Full Version : a few questions :D
For a custom built dual exit system with a 3” highly polished tail I have just been quoted £439.00 from Longlife (so made of 304 stainless steel)
£790 for a set of 17" OZ Titans + fitting
£349.99 for a Toad ai606 fitted
are these prices any good?
and I'm not sure of which lowering springs to get? I want it slammed as much as I can :) and I'm gonna have to have the arches modified to fit the 17's anyway...
its a 1.4 CLS 95

Noting that you're in Bristol I would imagine the exhaust would be from LongLife up at Falfield? Have a search on the forums, Bill Brockbank (ibizacupra) had a somewhat less than satisfactory experience with them a few weeks ago...

I was quoted £360 inc fitting and VAT for a cat-back 2.5" system (quite a few months ago). Not a dual exit mind, not that I'd want one.

If you want it as low as you can go and still maintain even an ounce of comfort then you'll need some shortened dampers to go with the big drop springs, or some coilovers.
They quoted me £309 for a cat-back single exit 3"
I got a full system for 279.... and it was SHITE! I don't recommend any of these custom made exhausts. Stick to something that has been tried and tested. The grade of steel longlife/powerflow use is naff. Mine rusted BADLY after 6 months.

£790 for 17 inch wolfrace OUCH!!! im running on 17 inch Wolfrace voodo 2's and i got em for £550 with tyres, and got them fitted and tracked at the local garage for £20. mite sound sad but buy Max power  or Fast Car  and check the prices out on the sales in there. There really cheap!!! get them fitted either by your self or the local garage + get them to sort the tracking out to be safe. You dont wanna run your tyres down too fast!! :D
there not wolfrace...
but coz i work in halfords atm theres a 20% sale on alloys and then i get my 15% off of that...so its 649.99 but thats not fitted

you don't need your tracking checked when fitting new wheels
why pay someone £20 for 30mins work? can't work out why anyone can't change wheels.
no need to modify the arches if you're running 7" wide rims on the right offset
why are you fitting an alarm to the car? does your insurance need it? (I guess not having been there myself) just curious as spending the best part of 1/3 the value of the car on the alarm is quite steep

I'd hazard a guess that it may have something to do with sticking a set of wheels on costing approx 2/3 of what the car is (monetarily) worth...
TruCido - I sympathise with you, I used to live in Bristol myself. In 4 years I lost approx 8 front splitters to robbing gypsy c*nts with N*va's, S*xo's, C*rsa's and sh1te like that (could be more - I gave up counting), had the car successfully broken into once requiring a new door, lots of paint, window, lock, etc, etc, had a bungled break in attempt requiring a new door lock (that took nearly 2 months to arrive!) and had the car vandalised with a scratch down one side of the car, a broken numberplate and a smashed grille. And that was in a nice part of town...
:S what part of bristol was that?

VW Golf4 (and similar) - 2 secs is all it takes to get in;)
I had a friend that got a dual exit LongLife exhaust up at Falfield, utter shite, it was rattling so badly after 2 weeks he took it back, they said it needed another partto stop the rattle and was gona cost him more money, even though he had paid for a 'full' system and even then it still wasnt fixed, bunch of cowboys.
if jase hurries up with emptying his garage
i'll bend one up for ya Bill ?
if not i got a bit o scaffold pole round ere somewhere ;)
