In dumb ass terms, will this help the procees of getting from gear to gear quicker?. Sounds tempting.

That's the aim, unless it just exacerbates an already notchy change making it more difficult (and maybe slower).

So how do these two compare besides the obvious physical differences?
B&M

Neuspeed

And could they even be used in conjunction??
I wouldn't have thought you can use them together, but i know Stu stuck a B&M o2j shortshift on to his 02a and said the shift was good and positive (although it was troublesome to start with).

can you elaborate on the troublesome part? As any tips during fittment will help
I meant it was troublesome and notchy before the installation so he went out got the B&M to install whilst having a bash at curing his notchy box - ooer:p

:D My box is the same now, the new speed one does look easier to fit tho, But Have heard god things on the B&M, and tried one on a Passat @ TSR

A mate of mine has a B&M on his corrado and unless they've changed the design since, the cables are attached at the bottom using a little circlip instead of the standard split pin. This little circlip falls off...lots....so you lose selection and have to fish down inside the housing to pick it up. Also on the Corrado, it makes the gear knob sit too high as it was really designed for a Golf, but that shouldn't make any difference on the Ibiza - similar driving position. I don't like the B&M.
I had an Autocavan/Volksport version of the Neuspeed on my old VR6 and it was the best cable quickshift I've ever used - really positive - I want one for my current VR6 but I'm not paying $500 for a Neuspeed. I know how it was made so I may try to make my own using a spare standard shift mechanism I have.
Mike,
Did you ever buy the B&M Short Shifter in the end ?!? ;)
Seen one for sale and wondered what you thought of it ;)
Cheers,
Andy

yep, A deffinate improvement, especially when u go into a stock cupra!!!, Its a little notchy and a bitch to fit but a good mod
Useless for Women tho cause I had the "Its Crap, Theres no Numbers onit and The gears are too close, cant tell what one your in!!"
